I always hear about "alot" of ladies getting induced at 37-39 weeks without a medical reason...but I honestly never see these posters. If you were "medically" induced between 37-39 with no medical reason, please share. Straight up being nosey, no judgement 🤷🏾♀️

I had my second son at 35 weeks, emergency csection. I wish I could have made it to 41+6 ! I judge. It’s selfish to want to rush your babies development. Pregnancy isn’t fun and games. It’s a lot of work and it gets painful. You’re growing a person. What do you expect.🤷🏻♀️ And the posts are usually someone asking about tea, eating pineapples, or rubbing magic potion on their belly. 😅🙈 haven’t seen any in a bit though 😅
@youareastar yep back then we'll actually up until a few years ago full term was considered 37 as well.
I was. My doctor set a date. I went in. They induced. I had baby and left. I had him about 12 years ago. Maybe it’s different now. My doctor didn’t question me.
@queenmeeks, because of the pain I was in. I threw up and was in and out of the hospital
When I was pregnant with my son 2 years ago my ob told me that the March of dimes will not let them induce before 39 weeks unless medically necessary such as preeclampsia, gestational diabetes, etc.
@romeowhiskey If you were "medically" induced between 37-39 with no medical reason, please share.
I was induced for medical reasons at 37 weeks and 6 days but I do know a few who just wanted to have the baby so they got inducted at 38 weeks. Now all my friends that did that seen a different OB office then myself mine just won’t induce because you want to before 40 weeks. Now after 40 weeks they will because they don’t want you to go past 41 weeks and 3 days. All of 37 and 38 weekers were fine no NICU stay needed. I know every single baby is different and it varies
@lovelily Okay you lost me Hun, but okay we can agree to disagree lol , no pun
@angelfoodcake, yeah it’s definitely very interesting. I mean you are bringing a baby into the world not knowing how he/she will be outside the womb so just doing it on a moms wants is way to risky. This post is definitely a good one to ask and see what everyone’s stories are. Sorry that I started talking about it without having my own story lol. Just really blown away.
@jack.ass Exactly when others aren't listening and following directions lolololololo
@angelfoodcake, simply scrolling through every day you’ll see this. Most people won’t come on a post like this and put themselves because this singles them out and puts them on a call out.
@angelfoodcake And thus it is a subjective question pertaining to a specific subject. Who was medically induced for non-medical reasons?
Your objective was to find out. They answer the subject. Hence why people are told to stick to the subject, not the object.
But, I digress. Good question though.
@lincolnsmommy18 That's my point, I dont think there is as many docs doing this as it's portrayed ... I think there's some confusion between the "want to be induced" and "trying measures them selves" vs. Women who are being medically induced for non medical reasons - which means their doc is approving and performing the induction.... I don't think at 37 weeks most docs are like "your in pain, let's induce" there has to be some guidelines for "most" docs, just my opinion. I don't see many on here this is happening too alot... and I don't know anyone personally, that's why I wanted to hear from some people who actually have had this take place.
That comment made you crack out a dictionary ? 😅 It wasn’t my “object” to stick to, yet I did. Just don’t agree. Which I thought I made pretty clear.
@angelfoodcake, I feel like if I went to my doctor and said I want to be induced because I’m in pain she would probably have a serious talk with me. She would say it’s about baby not you.
@lincolnsmommy18 I think that shows "some" validation in itself, were not talking about women drinking castoil oil - but docs who are performing the induction. I'm sure there are some guidelines they have to follow, there's liability on them as well
@jack.ass, wow. I know pregnancy is painful but as my doctor says if there’s no pain there’s no gain... I wondered how they got to be induced without a reason besides being in pain... I honestly don’t think my doctor would of suggested induction because how against it she was unless the measuring was what we thought with my son. I couldn’t imagine her saying okay let’s do it at 37 weeks tho. I would decline that.. seeing all these post about it makes me feel like a bad mom because I’m getting induced but it’s not because of pain or my wanting. He will not fit through my canal at all if he continues to grow as much as he is..
I do have to say in my case though that when I went in to be induced I was already having contractions so I would’ve had him within the next day or so anyways. My cousin also had an induction scheduled at 39 weeks because her husband deployed the week of her due date and wouldn’t see the child until he was almost two. She ended up having her baby prematurely at 37 weeks.
@lincolnsmommy18, a good doctor will say that. Unfortunately not all doctors are good doctors.
@lovelily
Object : a person or thing to which a specified action or feeling is directed
The object was to hear the background of women who were medically induced for non-medical reasons...
Subject: a person or thing that is being discussed, described, or dealt with.
The subject was women who were medically induced for non medical reasons...
FTM, but I had 0 clue you could ask for an induction & your doctor say okay? I had always been told and seen that they only induce you if you have something going on? Medically?
PS sorry for not technically sticking to the subject @angelfoodcake, 😘
@angelfoodcake, I wish any of my three made it to full term 😫 It’s a valid post though 👍🏻 I’m praying this one doesn’t try to come early on me!
@romeowhiskey Another not sticking to the object of the post , lol
@angelfoodcake they induced me once i got to the hospital for quicker labor. Also my sister was induced all 3 times at 37 weeks.
I got induced with my oldest at 39 weeks no medical reasoning. My doctor asked me and I didn’t know any better and said yes. My son had complications I wish I would of known better and just waited
@angelfoodcake true but if women are purposely going into labor I'm going to comment to voice my opinion that I think you shouldn't 😊
@taylorc another medical reason, my dear lol
I had my second son at 35 weeks, emergency csection. I wish I could have made it to 41+6 ! I judge. It’s selfish to want to rush your babies development. Pregnancy isn’t fun and games. @witchywoman_ so yours was tech a medical induction lol
Thanks for sticking to the object of the post @caseywright022197 @jneill lol
@queenmeeks folks will never stick to the post question, lol - not a debate, not talking about going natural, not for the protest. Just wanted to hear stories of those who we're non medicalally induced between 37-39 weeks lol.
@angelfoodcake lol yeah .. I'm still trying to go as long as I can without all that .. I would love 40 weeks for full brain development lol
@geekalovesgeography You too were not induced my dear lol
I wasn’t technically induced. But I had my membranes stripped at 38weeks with my second and 39 weeks with my first. For my first there was no reason. My second though I had been having contractions from 34 weeks until birth. My body was just so fatigued and I started having other problems but luckily my body went into labor on its own.
I think sometimes it just depends on the drs. Our hospital has an older dr that will let moms choose if they would like to be induced after 38 weeks. Especially if they are dilated or effaced a little when he checks them. I think it’s just preference sometimes.
As for the women who try things to start labor. I’m all for using natural things to get labor progressing or starting. Nothing has been proven that those things for sure work but in my experience baby will come when baby is ready. So you can do all the natural remedies you want and still not go into labor.
@jordanrwilliams25 You have a reason my dear lol
I got induced with my first at 39 weeks because of preeclampsia and 36 with my secondfor the same reason. My second daughter had extremely low blood sugar at birth and still has reflux and laryngomalacia. I was in the Worst pain with her, I couldn't walk or even turn over in bed but if it was up to me I would have dealt with the pain and let her bake more.
@pie., truth. I wish I could have made it to full term, but I only made it to 31 weeks before I had her as you know.
Well I’m getting a cesarean at 36 weeks not by choice but because of a previous surgery I had if it was my choice bake as long as you want little girl
Let me be clear: I do not condone anyone being induced before 39 weeks. I was induced at 37 weeks, with my second! because my doctor said, I was in active labor, even though i was only 2cm, I had unfortunately put all my trust in him, I agreed, thinking I had too, my son, spent a week in the NICU due to breathing issues, hes fine now, thank God! But I learned my lesson to always do your own research on pregnancy and your doctor! That doctor and birthing center was shut down months after what happened too me, as every baby born there had to be life lighted because the doctor.
I was induced at 39+2 because my insurance ended on January 1st and my doctor didn’t want to make me pay everything out of pocket. So I had him a few days before the new year.
I was 37 and a couple days when i went into natural labor. He was fine with no needed help at all
@caseywright022197 why did you choose to induce at 37 weeks?
Both my pregnancies I was able to choose if I wanted to be induced.. I said yes.. (don’t judge) but I had both my boys at 37-38 weeks.
I was induced at 39 weeks without a medical reason, it was just because I asked, because i was in pain.
My baby has been real low since 26 weeks and dilated 3 cm at 32 weeks and I have a birth defect that affects me carrying called hemihypotrophy and anemia my blood levels are behind because I don't take my iron pills . My ob said she may come early on her own but she may induce me at 37 weeks .. other than that idk about some of these chicks reasonings either lol
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...
TWW!!
2dpo and on the tww journey. Anyone on the same dpo or close? Haven't decided if I will test at 12dpo or just wait and see if she shows up!!

I will be 41 :/
Short Luteal Phase?
I've just started temping because I believe that the reason I haven't had a BFP yet, after 20 months, is because I believe I may have a Luteal Phase Defect.
