So I'm spoon feeding my 4 month old, currently it's just cereal. I know he's supposed to eat his full bottle along with any solids he gets. Should I wait some minutes before giving him the bottle or just right after he eats the cereal? I feel he won't eat a full bottle with the oz of cereal from the bowl. And did anybody start other solids before 6 months?
yes she gave us the okay at his 4 month checkup, although i started it a few days earlier anyway. for allergies, you do one food only for 3-5 days before introducing another. it took about a month before getting through all the foods. he has no allergies and does great on them. their poop does change and gets thicker, but that's normal. and he doesnt always drink all his formula, but it's okay as long as they're getting enough.
@jgled000, were you worried about food allergies? Did the doc give the okay for solids? I'm nervous of food allergies or him not digesting it that well.
we started baby food at 4 months, and he did pretty well. we only gave 1/2 of the stage one each feeding and did a bottle about an hour after. now at 7 months he eats a whole stage 2 at one feeding and will usually take a bottle 1 5-2 hours after, depending how long it had been since the last.
I would wait a hour after being spoon fed so they don't end up with a stomach ache. I did that with my first and he did pretty well with it. He would always leave like an once or two untouched but would go back and fourth within the half hour the bottle was made. Keep gas drops and gripe water on hand just in case of gas and such.
Oh okay! Thanks! He's doing good with the spoon. I might give him sometime on the spoon still.
