can you still receive child support if;

you change your child last name, but his/her father is still legally on the birth certificate?

also;

if you put a restraining/protection order on the father, will you also still receive the child support?

Yes! Even if they sign their rights over they will still have to pay child support. This is allowed in many states. Just found out about this last year.

I believe you can still get child support. My sister has a son and her son has her last name not his dad. His dad still gives my sister money or diapers for her son and hes not on the birth certificate. You should ask a lawyer to be certain or go down and file for child support and ask.

well he doesn't wanna be in his life so he said it was okay for me to change it. but he's in jail right now for like 90 days for attemptive kid nap as of yesterday and 2 warrants

I don't know about the last name thing but you need his permission to change the last name but you can with restraining order my mom had one on my dad and she got child support till he stopped paying
