What would you do with $25,000

If you received an extra $25,000. What would you do with it? ?

Wow, so I don't check for a few days and there's a ton of responses. I was in an auto accident in 2014, filed a lawsuit because the lady said it was our fault. She effing rear ended us at a stop light, I ended up having back surgery because of it and we had to rebuild the engine on the VW. It was a vintage car. So upset about the car. But any way.... the settlement is about that. Figure I'll pay off debt and the rest of the year on the mortgage. Save a little and buy a few things for the house. The SO and I have had in different ways of spending the money.

Would your SO agree with what you replied to on this thread?

Pay off debt, and put down closing and deposit on a home

Нравится Ответить

Move back to Oklahoma, get a car, pay off medical bills.

Нравится Ответить

Half savings for my daughter half vacation for me and my husband :)

Нравится Ответить

Down payment for a house.

Нравится Ответить

Lasik eye surgery and put the rest towards paying off the house

Нравится Ответить

Pay off debt

Нравится Ответить

Pay to do a corse to get myself a better job and to get a bigger car then if any is left over put into my sons savings account ?

Нравится Ответить

Get completely out of debt (except house payment).

Pay off the rest of my student loans, and credit cards.

Нравится Ответить

Hubby and I both had the same idea. Save it, once we're ready to settle somewhere and he retires from the military, we'd build a house. ;)

Нравится Ответить

I'd have my baby, and save the money to get a nice place to live and save half of it for him and use the rest to help me to be able to go back to work part time x

Нравится Ответить

Have a lovely wedding (added bonus: il have the same surname as baby)! Then the rest would be spent on buying stuff for baby/getting his room ready.

Нравится Ответить

Down payment on a house.

Нравится Ответить

- pay bills that need to be paid

- start a bank account for my son

Нравится Ответить

Some for down payment on a house fund most for kids clothes and things maybe a second car

Нравится Ответить

Debt and bank account for my daughter

Нравится Ответить

Pay off debt and then move to Florida.

Нравится Ответить

That's like, £15,000? So pay off my debt & either a boob job or do my car up, heh.

Нравится Ответить

Pay for my college, some in savings, and a car.

Нравится Ответить

Pay my rent all the way up to when my year lease is up and get furniture and baby stuff with the rest (is it clear that im struggling? Lol)

Нравится Ответить

Pay off my dept, probably give a little to my parents, my sister, my BIL and my MIL because they've been so good to us (part of why our debt isn't very high as they've all let us stay with them a few years ago when we had about a year of hard times). We would also cushion up our daughters college savings. The rest would either go towards the mortgage or we would save it

Нравится Ответить

My cars paid off so id probably say lets pay my husbands car off. Then invest & save the rest! :)

Нравится Ответить

make a good investment

Нравится Ответить

My mother won at a casino $31,000 two years ago and $27,000 I think 4 months ago .. It didn't last her long the first time she can't even remember what she spent it on but this time she got a steal on a Harley Davidson edition f-150 and she paid off the little bit she owed on her home , bought a trailer because she loves camping and then I think she squandered the rest .. Now if it were me I would put it towards my bills and not my home as my mortgage interest rate is low compared to my 10-19% interest rates on my loans and credit card .. So $25000 would only cover maybe two of my loans which isn't even half of my debt ?

Down payment towards a home

Нравится Ответить

Pay off all my debt

Нравится Ответить

put it towards a house

Нравится Ответить

I'm sure so would us some of it to buy a truck and the rest we would save

Нравится Ответить

We get dividend payments this amount or larger several times a year. We used our last payout to pay for our move from WI to WA and furnish our new house.

Нравится Ответить

@KrisFamily- where does your husband work!? Are there any open positions!?

Нравится Ответить

Down payment on a house

Нравится Ответить

Towards our mortgage, pay it all off sooner :)

Нравится Ответить

Add it to the downpayment for the flat we are planning to buy.

Нравится Ответить

Pay off CC debt. Put money toward very much needed car to fit a family of 5.

Нравится Ответить

This makes me feel better that I'm not the only one with debt and student loans and money stress!!! Sometimes I feel like I'm alone because people don't talk much about money because it's all about keeping up with the Jones' on social media these days! I would pay my car off and with what's left pay ahead on my rent and then save the money I make from work on the necessities and paying down my debt.

Нравится Ответить

Put it in the bank. Probably set up a life fund for the little one

Нравится Ответить

Replace upstairs carpet and save the rest. Boooooring ?

Нравится Ответить

Pay off a couple bills and save a bit..boring adult things ?

Нравится Ответить

Dh got a bonus that amount recently. We are planning on redoing our back yard or putting it towards our mortgage.

Нравится Ответить

Oh mane! Hmmm.....I would put half in the bank for my babies savings and use the other half for debt and another car.

Нравится Ответить

I would put $5,000 into each of my 4 kids accounts, and renovate the basement with the remaining $5,000.

Wishful thinking...

Нравится Ответить

Pay off my Jeep and student loans. Save rest

Нравится Ответить

Buy a new second car and move into our own place. Buy all the baby furniture and clothes you can imagine lol

Нравится Ответить

My husband and I have twice come into some money and each time we paid off a car we already had and put the rest away :)

Нравится Ответить

Many

Нравится Ответить

Move out this raggedy apartment

Нравится Ответить

Build a deck. Put the rest on debt and braces for kids.

Нравится Ответить

Make it rain on deez hos.

Нравится Ответить

I bought a new car and did renovations on the house

Нравится Ответить

Pay off my credit card and buy a toy hauler camper !

Нравится Ответить

Pay off credit cards and my husband's student loans.

Нравится Ответить

I am $250,000 in debt... It wouldn't go very far. ? I would put it towards my $50,000 student loan debt. I could almost pay off Navient which is something I am desperate to do. They're sheisters and deserve to be shut down.

Нравится Ответить

Student loans ?

Нравится Ответить

Pay off our debt so that we can start saving for a down payment on a home (which still take forever in southern California).

Right now it's looking like 3 years to pay the debt and another 7-10 for a down payment. It's too long! And prices are just getting higher and higher so who knows...

Нравится Ответить

We would probably relocate and use it to help with a down payment on a home. If we couldn't find a place to relocate to, I'd pay off my car or something. Then save the rest.

Нравится Ответить

Pay off our debts.

Нравится Ответить

Down payment on a new house

For sure ?

Нравится Ответить

Get a decent used vehicle, pay off some debt and get a lawyer to help fight my ex.

Нравится Ответить

Put it in the bank and keep building up my credit so I can buy a home.

Нравится Ответить

I'd pay off my student loans and put the rest toward my car loan lol after that i'd be almost debt free and that would be amazing!

Нравится Ответить

Definitely put it on the mortgage. $25k now, when we're still new to the house (couple years) would go a LONG way to reducing the # of years and amount of interest we'll be paying off.

Нравится Ответить

Pay off one of my student loans, and put the rest towards either my last student loan/other debt like credit card or invest in a new car for our growing family.

Нравится Ответить

Pay off some debts and put the rest in savings so it can collect interest.

Нравится Ответить

I would want to buy my husband the truck he wants. But I'd have to just go and do it. If he found out about the 25k he would want to put it I. Savings for the girls.

But he deserves something nice. He sacrifices a lot for us to have the best.

Нравится Ответить

Down payment on a house and clear all my debts

Нравится Ответить

Put it in my savings.

Put some on my mortgage.

Нравится Ответить

Use a little for our wedding. Open a savings account for the girls. Put the remainder in the savings account.

Нравится Ответить

Down payment on a house!

Нравится Ответить

Pay off my car, pay on debt, and put a couple thousand away for savings.

Нравится Ответить

Pay off the rest of our CC debt and then pay off our car. What ever is left, I would divide 3 ways between my girls and stepson and put it in each of their savings accounts.

Нравится Ответить

Pay off debt

Нравится Ответить

One of my employees just came into a compensation check for $40k. She's a young girl, 19. Initially she said she was going to get a car and go back to school. Everyday I go into work and she tells me all the frivolous things she's bought for her, her bf (no job, lives two hrs away, sees him every 4 months, oh and he's 27) and her dad (went to prison now lives with his mother). She bought a $500 tambourine because she thought it was pretty and spends hundreds of dollars on makeup everyday. So far I think she's spent $5k on junk. I cringe to think that this money could seriously make her future so much easier and she's just throwing it away.

I would pay off a little debt and then use the rest as a down payment.

Нравится Ответить

Pay off debt

Нравится Ответить

Take $5000 for me and my partner then put the rest in a saving account for our baby boy :)

Нравится Ответить

Make a savings for my little girl. ?

Нравится Ответить

Pay off my student loan!

Нравится Ответить

Pay off the last bit of my student loans and add it to our down payment for a house. I would also buy ds a big play structure for the new backyard.

Нравится Ответить

Pay all our debt off lol

Нравится Ответить

Put it in our savings. We have no debt and no immediate needs as of now.

Нравится Ответить

Put some in stocks, some in our savings, and put the rest in a college fund for our baby.

Нравится Ответить

I would do some home improvements like granite countertops and flooring, save a little, and put the rest toward my mortgage.

Нравится Ответить

Put it in the bank for my babies.

Нравится Ответить

Build my tiny home.

Нравится Ответить

Pay off my vehicle loan and quit my job for maybe a year or 2! I'm due in Aug and won't get mat leave ?

Нравится Ответить

Pay off our car. It's 378$ a month. We owe 23000 lol

Нравится Ответить

Part of house payment. The rest SAVINGS.

Нравится Ответить

Pay off debt definitely

Нравится Ответить

Buy a nice house

Нравится Ответить

Pay off my car and pay for this new baby to be born. If there was anything left over, savings

Нравится Ответить

Get hubby a new car. Pay of cc.

Нравится Ответить

5k goes to the principle on my husbands vehicle. Then the rest of it is going into a high interest account for a down payment on our house we plan to purchase in a few years

Нравится Ответить

Down payment on a new house

Нравится Ответить

Fix the water pipes in my home. Fancy up the outside of my home (flowers, playground, screened in deck). Put the rest in savings.

Нравится Ответить

Deposit most put a good bit to bills and collect some interest

Нравится Ответить

Down-payment

Нравится Ответить

My my parents debt. Anything left over goes to their mortgage and bills.

Нравится Ответить

I wouldnt buy new couches for the simple fact my kids are young and would probably destroy it to quick.

But I could buy a bigger dining room table (ours currently seats 4 and there's 6 in our family)

I would go on a shopping spree at winners with my step daughters and let them spend some for their rooms.

I would put a bunch to groceries and stocking up (maybe even a deep freeze for the basement and stock up on meats)

Clothes for me and hubbs. (kids already have tons of clothes)

Maybe some new outside toys for our kids.

I would try to have fun with it.

Нравится Ответить

Pay off our debt and put a f*** ing dishwasher in our kitchen ?
