hmm... I work for the FDA, and I believe that under the affordable care act, if you qualify for Medicaid during pregnancy, you are not mandated to pay it back. I could be wrong, though.

and I thought TX was bad....I can think of lots of reasons a mother wouldn't want a father to be named or provoked with child support. rape, abuse etc. what if you just said you didn't know who it was?

That's completely stupid. What's the point of 'free healthcare' if you have to pay it back? I had to get Medicaid in the first place because my insurance company didn't cover pregnancy. Also completely stupid.

I have Medicaid, food stamps and wic. I live in NC. Is it just if you and the father aren't together? Or just because you aren't married? I live with my boyfriend and his family. But I cook my own dinner and I'm alone during the day so I feed myself. No one mentioned anything to me about this

I understand. I was the same way! And yes @ce5ce I lived in sc and it was the same laws as fl, where I'm at now. I'm possed because even to get food help I have to do this whole process!!

They only do it when you take out taniff. I'm pretty sure that's everywhere

Medicaid and wic, no.. But anything else like food assistance yes, I'm having to do it now.
