OK mommies I have a question I've never been one to worry about my weight I've always been over weight and OK with it ( yes I know not healthy but I was happy with myself I knew I'd never be a 0) well anyways after my son was born all I want is to be healthy for him.. and when we decide its time for another baby I want to be healthy. I've come to the conclusion that my family needs me as long as possible and not being healthy will shorten my life.. what can I do to help me and my family be healthy I'm going to start walking when the rain gives up.. I'm starting to eat better if cut out sodas but still drink teas and lemonade. I have a zumba DVD I can start. any ideas what else I can do? and how long after my baby can I start I'm 5 weeks pp. tia sorry for the long post..
actually, look up something called Omnitrition. it's a weightloss product, based off these drops you take (omni-drops) but you also follow a very strict, extremely healthy diet. the diet alone is enough to make you lose weight but you can lose like 30lbs in a month if you follow the strict diet they set up.
the only reason I said it's unhealthy is because it's starving your body of nutrients it needs to survive, so yes your body turns to eating away at the fat, and if you keep doing it to long it'll eat away at your muscles. so if you did the low carb diet I would do it for like, Monday through friday, then only eat good carbs on the weekend (like fruits and veggies, and lightly seasoned chicken.)
@crunchymomma, thank you my husband is a red meat eater I can eat chicken everyday Lol I need to lose weight my parents to the low carb but its been hard for me to get in the flow of it
definitely start by eating healthier. my family natural eats healthy, rarely eat red meat, we usually eat chicken and fish (usually talapia, if you're good with seasonings eating talapia everyday isn't an issue haha) meat shouldn't be a main course, it should be more of a side. we always have meat, and veggies of some sort, and some kind of pasta (there's healthy sauces for pastas) for breakfast I always make either oatmeal or some kind of smoothie, but I always make sure to eat breakfast since I'm breastfeeding. we also love going for walks as a family, and usually bring one of our dogs with us while we go on a walk. a low carb diet isn't really the healthiest choice, but if it helps you get to a weight you're happy with, then you live a healthier lifestyle then do what works for you.
I use my fitness pal. It tracks all the food and exercise including cleaning and if you do decide to do a low carb diet you can use to check carbs in pretty much anything.
@mamesey, OK thank you
