There are a lot of misconceptions about milk production out there... This is 1.5 ounces of liquid gold from my before bed pumping session. I breastfeed my son on demand from about 7am until 830pm... He is 6 months old and he has never had a drop of formula in his life. Yes sometimes I get more but sometimes I get less too. But my son has thrived on my milk since he was born. I've tried mothers milk tea and lactation cookies but this is what my body produces via a pump after a long day of EBF my son. Every night I read posts from mamas wanting to increase their milk or supplement with formula because of how much milk they're producing via the pump. I promise you and give you This example of you're making enough! My son has been sleeping through the night since he was 5 weeks, he's healthy and happy and all I can pump is 2 ounces COMBINED. He wouldn't be that way if that was all I actually produced. Before you spend money on lactation boosters, formula, or start power pumping, simply look at your child. Are they peeing and pooping enough? Then you're golden! Yes there have been times where my son has cluster fed when he has growth spurts and then my body knows to make more milk for him. Our bodies are powerful magical strong well oiled machines that don't typically need help. Seeing all these moms posting pictures of their huge milk supplies or output use to make me so scared and sad. I go to a breastfeeding support group with a lactation consultant who says EBF moms don't normally produce more than 2oz because they're accustomed to baby sucking not a machine. I hope I've put some of your minds at ease. You got this mamas! Trust your bodies!
Aw thanks @queeneden 😊 I just hope someone listens. It breaks my heart to read all these posts about low supply. I just want to shake them all and say you got this! @verobaby
i tell girls this all the time but it's always the same end result. i always feel bad that they didn't think they can do it when this is what our bodies are made for.
No problem! You got this mama! Don't hesitate to reach out if you ever have any questions or need to talk
