QUESTION! My daughter was born in December of 2015. Can I claim her on taxes? I was told they have to live with you for 6 months but a friend told me it wasn't true.

I had some woman on here follow me then asked if we could talk. asked how far along I was, I told her then asked what kind of phone I had I told her asked why then she asked for my number.... I told her as nicely as I could that "I don't know you, so no" it was weird and creepy! I don't mind talking to people on here but just to be so forward like that has me suspicious of her intentions. Am I being to paranoid or would you do the same?! lol...

No you can claim them. My daughter was born dec 13 and I called and asked if I could claim her and they said yes

As long as they were born before December 31st, you can claim them on your federal taxes

They have to be living for 6 months before you can claim them, in your womb doesn't count.

my first son was born in October and we claimed him you can claim them as long as there born before January

I am a tax preparer as long as the child was born by 11:59 on Dec 31st of that year yes you can claim your child
