My husbands grandmother is pissing my off. Ever since I decided I wanted to breastfeed at 6 months pregnant , she has been telling me to just do formula. She constantly tells me I should just give her formula its easier and and she did it and its a better choice. I decided to breastfeed for my daughter to give her the best. I don't care if I don't get sleep at night or that I have to take time out of my day to pump. She keeps insisting my breast milk is making her sick and she doesn't like it. I keep telling my husband she's pissing me off but he doesn't say anything. Today she was telling me to look into formula so I could stop breastfeeding and I told her no that I choose this and I'm sticking to it. But she keeps going at it and its driving me nuts.

Stick to your guns! And seriously how the hell is formula easier???? I've had to supplement while breastfeeding and getting up in the middle of the night to make a bottle SUCKS! But whipping my boob out and being able to let my child feed herself while I'm half asleep? That's EASY!!!! 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼

Right💁. I just wish my husband would just back me up and take a stand for me, I mean I could hold my ground my self but it would be nice to feel like I'm not alone on things like this.

@cdelatorre, I'm glad your sticking to what you want to do but all I can tell you is be nice, straight forward, and not to shut her old face!! that would be very rude and childish even as rude as she's being just go with what you feel like telling her and if she doesn't like it oh well

Thank you. I just needed to vent and get some support. It truly is hard to breastfeed with out any support. But I know all of this is for my baby girl.

Oh hell no. That's crazy. Breastmilk is liquid gold as the NICU nurses would say! Every single drop counts you do what you do and continue to give you daughter the best you can. You need to show her some sort of proof or tell her your daughters doctor doesn't agree with her

Good for you!!! Don't listen too her. That's the best thing you can do for your baby. Only great moms breast feed their baby's ❤️

While I agree formula is a blessing for many, breast milk is really best for your baby's health, there are so many benefits I could be here for hours trying to explain them all...stick with what you're doing mama, just keep explaining that this is your choice, not hers and with all due respect, back off. You should also talk to your husband and tell him that this is what's best for your baby and that if he wants to show support for your parenting choices, he needs to support your decision and ask his mom to back off. Breastfeeding isn't always easy, and when someone is shoving formula down your throat, or trying to, it's very hard not to just give in and say, maybe just tonight so I can give my boobs a rest, and before ya know it your supply is diminishing and you'll be sad that it ended too soon! So stick with those instincts, reach out for more support, and don't listen to her she's probably just bitter because it didn't work out for her, or she was taught growing up that breastfeeding was wrong which sadly a lot of people in society think it's gross and wrong and they think it's not enough to satisfy the baby or keep them healthy, or they think we're "selfish" for hogging our baby by breastfeeding all the time and all those reasons are completely wrong.
