Has any one had their child in speech therapy? My son is almost 2 years & he doesn't want to talk😞 he does say some words like mama, papa, shoe..etc. But doc said he should be talking in sentence like 'hi mama'. Has any one deal with this? How can I help my son talk more?

I don't want to scare you or anything but my sister never talked and my mom took her to a specialist and come to find out she had autisum diagnosed at 3 :/ but I hope that's not the case for you

Not me personally. But my little sister. She couldn't get words out. Her jaw wasn't strong enough to talk in full sentences. She never took to chewing teething toys and what not like most babies tend to and so her jaw strength wasn't good. She went to special classes after the speech therapist got her so far and started school early but she just turned 7 and is talking just fine and in regular school classes with my 9 year old sister who walks her to class in the morning. I would recommend atleast trying it if the dr says to try it. A speech therapist for our family was a tremendous help. If you wait too long then it will be harder for them from my understanding. :) this is a picture of her. Gorgeous as ever and talks like everyone else!

child therapy wouldn't hurt him but I'm sure he will start soon!! I read that if he ask for something like " drink..." you just continue to respond with a full sentence "yes, I will get you a drink" and that's supposed to help him recognize a full sentence
