How do you ladies feel about at home dopplers? Is it a good investment? I think I really want one.

I loved mine in the forest and second trimester but once he got bigger I started not liking it cuz he'd punch or kick it and it was so loud. And at that point I didn't feel I needed it since I can feel him every time he even wiggled.

I'm thinking of getting one myself.. it's my first pregnancy and it's nice to be able to hear his heartbeat more then once a month

I got one, but it was early on, like around 5 weeks. Although I didn't hear a heartbeat until 9 weeks. I liked it in the beginning and used it a lot, but after I started feeling movements I stopped using it. The only reason I'm keeping it now is if I don't feel her for a while or can't get her to move then I'd check. So they're a good investment early on, even better if you can get one cheap. I got mine for $60 and now thinking about it I wish I wouldn't have spent so much to use it for a few months, but in the end I am glad I got it.

@chasinghappiness, yeah I'd say so.. especially when your early and movements aren't as normal and later in the pregnancy when movement slows down

I was the same way that's why I got it. I lost 3 and wasn't going to loose this one so every time I got scared it helped

I love them they have helped my anxiety do much

I had a miscarriage before this pregnancy, so my sister in law gave me a doppler. I use it all the time. I'm going to be 29 weeks and I just used it today. I like to use it when he doesn't move as much, and also just to hear it because I love listening to him. it's a nice reassurance to know his little heart is beating away and he's healthy. I'd say it's a good investment but make sure you read up on them so it's easy for you to tell the difference between your heartbeat and your baby's. :) good luck!

Well I actually just read some reviews. Most say it's absolute crap and can't detect baby's heartbeat. I'm also looking for a Doppler. I'll let you know if I find anything better. @chasinghappiness
