Yeah I spend every day with my babies too. I couldn't imagine a day without them. People are crazy

my mil wanted me to get rid of my yorkie. I would never. I love that dog. but she hates animals so my dogs gonna attack my baby blah blah. still to this day If I have eddison on the floor she's like where's Scooby. what's he doing. it's so irritating

@santistevanmommie that's the way I see it! My pets are my kids. I've had my cats for two years from kittens (one a rescue), and my dog for over a year. I've put so much love and hard training into my dog (yellow lab). I've watched them grow just like a mother watches her child. I spend more time with them than with my husband. My husband works and sleeps, except on weekends, so my pets pretty much know me better than he does.

My hubby's family friend asked if I was gonna get rid of my dogs and I pretty much lost my sh*t on her for it. My dogs were my babies before I got pregnant and there's no way I could ever just "get rid of" my fur babies. They aren't just pets to me they're part of my family and life would never be the same without them. I think she mostly freaked out because I have a pit but he's really good and I told her they will be a part of my babies life just as much as I am

I'm so sorry @yummycake :( That's horrible. I would tell my mom to not ever visit then. Maybe you can find them temporary homes! This is my first pregnancy, and I was so astounded that people could blame my pets for a future tragedy that will not happen. I'm happy I could vent on here, and have people who understand!

i gave in and put my on craigslist. im soo emotional and everyonr made faces at my animals..mom says she doesnt visit because of them...and since i got sick i cant care for them good..so my husband does. but im emotionally mixed feeling.i love them...but im irritated. i feel imma regret it when im out of pregnacy. its so hard when people get into ur business. ive had my this situation over and over it sucks.

I agree. My doctor has never said anything bad about having pets, and I'm not going to place all the negative people's opinions over my doctors!

Exactly! @mam_a7x I always say never ever get rid of your fur babies unless there's a medical reason you can't have them. Which the only reason I can think of is severe allergies that could put you in to anaphylactic shock. Haha. Never a good enough reason to give up pets❤️

That's great information! @taylorraye I'm glad there are definitely benefits to keeping my pets vs giving them up and being heartbroken.

Children that grow up with pets in the house are actually proven to have stronger immune systems than children who grow up without pets! We have a dog and a cat and after lots of research we figure if it's not gonna harm our baby, we're keeping them!!!

My cat does fine with my son. She's still trying to get used to him but she's never harmed him in any way since bringing him home from the hospital.

I agree! My pets are family, and I couldn't imagine giving them up! They've helped me through things that no person could help me through. My dog is more understanding than half of the people I know.

@mam_a7x, - grrrrr.. yes that's annoying. My bestie always says I need to get rid of my dogs before my chicken fry gets here. Um.... My fur babies have gotten me through the hardest times of my life... they love me unconditionally. Heck no... me getting rid of them is like me getting rid of my own babies! Forget them! It's our OWN lives the last time I checked! Irony of it.. she is now pregnant and has a cat!!! Smh

That's crazy but it sound like my mom. I got rid of mine and regret it till this day. But we have a family dog and he loves children. Most caring thing in the world.
