Mommies how soon after delivery did you breastfeed your Bebe? And was it before of after they bathe the baby?
@boots, okay good to know! But yes you're right hospital do it differently but also you can have your say and your way as long as baby & mom are healthy and well all procedures can be done after like an hour or so. But yeah I like how they did it with u without you telling them. That's good.
After my son was born they immediately placed him on my chest for about 5 minutes to give me time with him first while they cut the cord then took him just to clean up a bit and weigh which only took 2 minutes really and then put him back on my chest for skin to skin for about an hour. Once we switched rooms from delivery to newborn is when I tried to breastfeed, so about 2 hrs after delivery. I guess every hospital does it differently but I'm sure if you wanted to breastfeed right away they wouldn't tell you no! lmao
nope! stayed right there in that room. pushed her out, she was on me for about 5 minutes, then they took her across the room and looked her over while I was laying there getting fixed up.😊 as soon as I was finished they brought her back over to me and asked if I'd like to try and nurse and I said yes!
@vadasmommy2015, I really like that! 👌🏼👌🏼 that is what I want as well! All routine procedures to be delayed until after I fed my baby and we bonded skin to skin right away actually. Thank you for sharing ☺️
@mizzmeganmae, very good tip! Thank you for sharing! That's what I've been told already and I plan to let them know what I want and how and when! All providing my baby is healthy and well of course.
@babygirl10-11, I love that! Well that is what I want as its in my birth plan. Of course as long as my baby is healthy and all then they can do routine procedures after I fed the baby
@sgtpeppertheory, ahh I see! Okay did they stitch u up right at the delivery bed? Or had to take u somewhere else?! Aw glad u guys were okay. Tnx for sharing
right after they placed her on my chest, sucked everything out of her mouth and cut the cord. at my hospital they do mommy&me; time right after babies are born to do skin to skin and to feed. she was born at 737pm. weighed her an hr after then gave her back and didnt bathe her til 1130pm.
@dovejazz, as long as there are no complications you can ask to immediately breastfeed if you wish too. They will clean her up first or you can do skin on skin immediately and begin to feed. Or you can wait until they bathe her, BUT if you allow them to take baby, make sure you make it VERY VERY clear baby will be breastfed and do not give baby a bottle or a pacifier! They took my first and gave him both of those so when he came back he had no interest in my breasts what so ever! ;(
i fed my baby about 5 mins after i had her i cleaned her myself she came straight to me they didnt weigh her or bathe her for about an hr after she was born ... i didn't want nobody to touch her till after i was done
about an hour after I had her. they had to stitch me up, I tore pretty badly. then the nicu staff has to come in and evaluate her because her temp and heart rate was elevated but all was well! we didn't bathe her until the next day.(-:
I started breast feeding at about 20mjns after birth. Bathed him the next day and every day since. Every mom does something different so find what works for you
