How do you politely tell people you don't want visitors from out of state after your child is born?

there is no polite way lol

@sexii_diiva my mother in law wants to come with my father in law after the baby is born. We live in a two bedroom condo. If they stayed in a hotel I'd be more open to it.

well is your husbands parents so have him tell them to stay in a hotel... that's their son So they will still like him whether it comes off rude or not... you're the wife.. they dont have to like you lol so to not burn bridges with them tell him to tell them

@firefly, just explain to them (or have your hubby explain) that you'd prefer not to have house guests right after coming home from the hospital however if they'd like to stay in a hotel and come over to visit that they're welcome to do so -that's what I did with my bio father and my stepmom when they came to visit after I had my daughter, they totally understood why we didn't want anyone staying at our house during that critical time.

well I told my husband i didn't want anyone coming to the hospital except immediate family. it worked out for the most part... but even at 5 weeks I'm like a hawk over my baby... I don't want anyone babysitting... I let my mom watch him for 3 hrs finally yesterday.. but I'm real particular

@sexii_diiva my husband's mother wants to come. I can already see her doing things I don't like she smokes that's a issue, I don't want my baby around smoke.

ooo yea..well hopefully he tells her... then 2nd hand smoke too because all her clothes && other items probably smell like it too

I just kinda told everyone that is coming to stay at my house "I don't mind you staying at my house, however this is not going to be a fun time for me. I am going to be in pain so I will not be cleaning or making dinner every night for people. I would appreciate your help because I will need it when the baby is here but dont think that its some kinda if vacation because its not." I know I'm rude but I'm not going to have people think that its going to be some fun vacation when I'm going to be emotional and stressed out. Then that gives them the option of wanting to take up space in your house or even come at all hahaha.

You know what I am hormonal right now and I'll stay at a hotel alone with my daughter! okay. God I honestly don't want any visitors, I don't want anyone to hold her. This is my first baby.

@firefly, I'm totally with you. my husband and me argued about this for a while. I have like 5 people coming to stay with me. so I know how you feel..

everyone feels like that... well a lot of people... but it's always an argument with famiy.. that's why you have to chose your words wisely... I've learned to just accept it.. say what I have to say && don't argue...you will lose..just like if he talks about my mom or someone close to me he will lose the argument...

That what going on with me now, we just move out of state & everyone want to come see baby when he's born & I just told them that I would like to bond & have a routine going b4 anyone come. They only person who coming right away is my mom,& after a week I know I'm going to be annoyed.

Tell them, we move to atl, & all my family live in fl. My cousin from japan wanted to stay with us a few days(last week) for a connecting flight & I told her no str8 up, because if I go in labor I wouldn't want her there & I'm in no shape to entertain anyone. It's a private moment for me & my bf nobody is allowed!

I'm not talking to the inlaws anymore. My husband can now do that, but still no one is staying here.

Wow that's messed up ...your husband should be defending you on this one cause the first few weeks after you come home are rough and you need to be as comfortable as possible

@hayleymarie I told him he can deal with them. I am no longer communicating with them. They always have drama and cause stress.

Girl my in laws are AWFUL (not the whole family just his mother and stepfather) we just officially cut ties with them because we're both sick of the drama and bullshit ...my fiancée loooooves my family cause they treat him like.....well FAMILY and his mom and stepdad treat me like crap and like an outsider

@hayleymarie well apparently I'm the devil lol but he will never cut them off. Even though they always want things from us.

Not that I'd ever want to keep my fiancée from his family but I'm so glad that HE decided to cut them off because they're so ridiculous like to the point where his mother is all of a sudden friends with his ex (whom she hated when they were together and who cheated on him and got caught cause she ended up pregnant during a time when they weren't having sex) & babysits her son and tells everyone it's my fiancées baby even though everyone (including the mother) knows it's not his son 😔 smh so glad we're done with them...hope your situation gets better

@hayleymarie yikes!!! Kinda sounds like my MIL says she hates my step sons mom yet slept at the house not even a year ago when my husband and I weren't married yet. If you dislike someone you don't have them sleep over or go sleep over there.

Exactly...like when we first met it was crystal (his ex) is a bitch, whore, slut, lazy, etc. and now that she realizes her son is happy with me it's oh lemme be best friends with crystal and invite her to get togethers and babysit for her and buy stuff for her son and blah blah blah...it's to the point where I wouldn't allow them to take pics of my daughter and won't let them have any pics because I don't want his ex seeing her and I know if I allowed them to that she would get to see the pics
