I am wondering if the moms out there who have chosen not to breastfeed could tell me why? I am curious because there are…

im bf but only for 4 weeks, I just don't have the time with work and school and home

I know a girl who is formula feeding her son and when I asked her why she said she just wasn't liking it.

I'm personally uncomfortable with it, idk why, I know other people were just uncomfortable...but I'm also going back to work full time and I will not make it living at the pump...it takes my sister forever...I was breastfed as a baby but my siblings were not, idk if it really makes a difference..my son is a month younger than my niece who is breastfed and my son seems to be progressing just as well as she is...So to me it's not a big flippin deal everyone makes it out to be

I'm formula feeding. I'm aware of the benefits however I am also just one person. I go to school full time pursuing my post secondary degree (I have my associates already). I'm starting internship, and I have a full time job, a seven year old, a house and a husband to help take care of. Doesn't make me a bad mother at all!

Its a personal choice. Feeding is all very private and we get criticized so much for not wanting to breast feed.... I dont feel comfortable, i feel that its is good bonding but the father also deserves the bonding experience just as well. I am going to try to pump to get my baby that source of nutrient but i dont feel comfortable with the baby on my boob honestly.

Yeah I know people get criticized for it and you shouldn't. As a mom it's your right to make the choice for your baby! Even if I personally wouldn't choose formula unless I had to, I do not judge against women who decide to use formula. When I found out about my pregnancy I knew right away I wanted to breast feed and I will be very upset if I can't. And it's true there are an endless list of upsides but to a woman who finds it uncomfortable, or is working or going to school or whatever other reasons someone chooses... It's just not going to work for them and don't let people try to make you feel bad! @kaity0117, I don't feel guilty because I have not experienced first hand these benefits that blow formula Fed babies out of the water...I know that there are benefits but I have not seen the difference in any babies or adults so if the turn out is ultimately the same idc.

Okay what im about to say is not a push you towards it thing but maybe research it? I researched about it because I wanted to make sure i was making the best choice for my baby. I don't believe you would be hindering your baby in any way as a lot of the benefits and preventative things for you and baby. The cost is a huge factor, it's convenient (if you don't work or have the time to take to do it) it's tailored to your babies needs, it protects their tummies. Their is lots of benefits but I don't know enough to know if there is a difference between formula fed and breast fed adults. I am definitely pro boob, but again no one should be telling you that you are harming your baby... Cause your not! @aicnov14

@kaity0117, whose to say I had no research? I have first hand experience with it, maybe you should do more research no offense? I was breastfed, developed nicely but my immune system was actually worse than my siblings who were formula Fed, I was sick non stop, and it wasn't an environmental issue, we lived at the same place my whole childhood...my siblings were rarely sick and also developed nicely...we have no deficiencies, never had any problems with lack of nutrients...my son is formula Fed and is receiving everything he needs, no stomach issues, doesn't throw up...I know the benefits of breastfeeding but I personally have zero issues with either option, not saying other people haven't seen a difference with their children, but I have not...the only difference I see is yes price...It can be convenient but it can also be a huge inconvenience...So to me it doesn't make a huge difference, either will get the job done, sometimes one does a better job and that could be boob or formula, depends on the baby.
