Как помочь сыну заснуть без укачивания?

Did anyone formula feed one baby and breast feed the other ? What was the difference in their behaviors and how did you deal with them? I weaned my son in February and he’ll be 2 this month. And he refuses to even try to fall asleep without being rocked or pat. It’s exhausting 😅 every single thing is so different with him but I’m assuming the sleep thing could be from the comfort of nursing ? How can I help it be easier for us both? Tired of the tears 😭

I breastfed both of mine and they both have completely different sleep needs and routines. Oldest was completely content to fall asleep on his own after nursing or chill out in his room alone until he was ready to fall asleep. He nursed until he was 2 and 8 months. Little guy stopped nursing at 1 year and 10 months, hardly ever nursed to sleep to begin with, but it’s taken until just this month (2 and 9 months) for him to be okay falling asleep alone occasionally.

Everyone has different sleep needs and habits, doesn’t really have anything to do with how you’re fed as a baby.

I was relating it more to the comfort of nursing more then the breastfeeding itself because he would usually nurse himself to sleep! Lol

I don't think the form of milk is the reason. All 5 of mine have had different needs and it wasn't until after 2yo did they get more willing to sleep on their own, the ones that slept with me. I'm probably the complete opposite of tough love tho. I literally would get in the crib with my oldest and lay until he fell asleep. 🤣 Do your boys share a room? A bed? You could put a little bed on your floor, you could sleep in his room. I think transitions of any sort are scary for kids. Depending on what type of kid he is, I'd research what would work best for him. So far all 4 of my kids have had different needs when it comes to sleeping on their own but I feel like hopefully it can be done with little tears. They are going to have tough night, but I think smooth transition with boundaries and prepping along with lots of other ideas are key!

They don’t share a room but whenever they’re willing I do encourage them to try and fall asleep together ! My older son loves it but my younger one is just so obsessed with the patting and touching so he’ll just crawl to me and it’s hard to break that for sure! Tbh the breast milk wasn’t what I was getting at it was more the comfort from breastfeeding if that makes sense? And it was just an assumption I’m not totally sure of course! Lol I know it’s probably gonna be a tough kinda long road I just hate feeling like a mean momma but I know he needs that routine soon especially since he’ll be going to daycare (my job) with me soon!

I wouldn’t connect it to nursing or formula. Both of my kids nursed. My daughter actually nursed longer. My son has always been more dependent when it came to sleep. My daughter puts herself to sleep. Every kids has different needs. My son recently started sleeping in his bed all night. We tried to force it but we also realized that he’d do it when he’s ready. It wasn’t worth possibly hurting the relationship in our case.

@briannalynn547, Yup, just keep talking to him about what a big boy he is and how all big kids sleep in their beds, ask if there’s anything about his bed that he doesn’t like or is scared of. Those are all things I did. It will click eventually. I think my daughter realized how uncomfortable our arms were compared to her bed lol. One day she was just like “mom can I get into my bed?”

@itskarina, he likes the bed it self he’ll ask me to put him in his bed, it’s just a matter of wanting me in the bed with him or touching him while he’s there 😅

Tough love honestly. It’s a habit that you have to break. You can put him in his bed and rub his back, it’ll be difficult to get him to break the habit but usually after a week or so they get the hang of it. I rocked my son for so long. He slept with me until a little after 3. I just made him excited about being a big boy. Offered tons of bribes. But honestly letting them get used to falling asleep alone is super hard but worth it. Lots of tired nights in the beginning.

@briannalynn547, ugh I bet you are! I promise it gets easier if you stick to your guns. It’s so much better for them developmentally to have good/independent sleep habits. Please don’t think he’ll hate you. He won’t. He knows you’re there. I didn’t ever sit outside the door but I would set a timer for about 5 mins, go in, and check. Give hugs/kisses, maybe less than a minute and then exit again once he’s calm. It’s so hard but you’ve got this! Everyone will be sleeping better soon. Are you still nursing him?

@momgroupreject, no I stopped in February! I had surgery and it was just easier to wean at the same time being he couldn’t be on me anyway and I couldn’t nurse for 48 hours. And thank you sm for the help/advice! I really appreciate it! So hard doing these big changes as a momma 🥺

@briannalynn547, it’s so hard. I feel your pain. My kid had a binky and wasn’t even fully potty trained until 3 too so don’t get discouraged. He’s definitely old enough to sleep by himself so there’s no harm in doing what you’re currently doing and it will get easier. 2 yr olds are super tough. What’s happening is completely normal for his age and development also.

I've just started temping because I believe that the reason I haven't had a BFP yet, after 20 months, is because I believe I may have a Luteal Phase Defect.
