Are your schools using the chrome books? I understood the need for them when the kids went virtual, but now that they are at school full time what’s the point? They are heavy to carry around, I’m tired of having to charge them every night and my five year old just told me that her teacher turns into Ms mean teacher because she has to keep logging in her kindergarten class because obviously they can’t remember user names and passwords they are barely learning letters 🤦🏻♀️. I assumed my daughters chrome book automatically opened up with her school info ready to go like my boys but that wasn’t the case her computer logs off after it’s closed. Also I never signed off any papers regarding these laptops and I was never given one, I better not be held responsible if something happens, I didn’t want them to begin with 😅.

My 6th grader takes his back and forth every day. He may or may not have something to do on it in the evening. The 3rd grader’s stays at school. Kinder is way too young for that daily nonsense, IMO.

I agree with the kindergarten kids it’s too much, not only on the kids but the teacher. Having to log in each student daily. My 8th grader at home doesn’t touch the chrome book he has his own desktop and his school tabs are there ready if he needs it.

My 6th grader has one but the elementary school doesn’t use them. Kindergarten is really young to have to remember log in information.

While I was sitting trying to help her learn how to log in she got mad at me and told me “you know I just started school, I don’t know all my letters yet can you point to it” 😂😂 my bad plus the printout the teacher gave us the letters were capitalized but the keyboard are all lowercase again something they are just starting to learn. Kindergarten way too young.

They don't tape their login info on the computer? That's what my boys school did. They have macbooks for home/school use and ipads for school use.

Nope all we were given was a small piece of paper with the username and password not including the @blahblahbla.net, I wrote her information on an index card and somewhat laminated it so it won’t get ruined. I am going to ask her teacher if I can print her login info on a label maker and tape it to the laptop.

All 3 of my kids were given chrome books with a sticker on it of their un and password. They only use it a little in class for some subjects since they can’t assess every kid individually all of the time. My kindergartner hasn’t used it in class yet but knows how to type ok for her age.

My son has one. We have a card with one of those scan codes on it that we show the camera and it logs him in. They’re only going to use it in case of quarantine or some random days through the year, so it stays home. They start using them in class in 5th grade in our district.

We’ve always had chromebooks. I honestly don’t remember if they have ever not had school computers 🤔

There should be a way the tech person can make it so they don't have to login every day. My kids use them at school every day but they don't bring them back and forth! Thank baby Jesus, I would die!

Wow she has to carry it back and forth? My daughter has one at home from last year and then they use classroom computers in class.
