After 3 days in hospital, multiple pessaries and examinations.. my induction has failed 😩.. so im now on a waiting list…

My friend had an elective section 8 weeks ago, her daughter is nearly 3 and she personally enjoyed her experience. She said she liked the fact that she knew what was going on and when it was going to happen, she’s recovered really well as well. Go with what you think is best xx

Your going through a hard time at this point aren’t you! An elective csection might be the best route at this stage if that’s what you end up going for! Everyone’s recovery is different also. But you with what you think is best for you and baby x

I had a elective c section. Much preferred it to my very bad vaginal birth experience. Not planning anymore kids but if I did I’d go c section. I liked knowing what was going on. I did get an infection in my cut but I healed well.

But I'm scared of section recovery so badly, like how do you sleep comfortably? how do you physically do anything? How long until you felt semi able to move about easily?

So sorry your having a rough time! She will be worth it all when she does make her appearance!! Goodluck with whatever you do decide to choose. If you have the support from your oh for recovery then go for it. Even tho mines wasnt elective im so thankfull i got c section, i know everyones different but recovery wasnt as bad as i thought, i was sent home with paracetamol but tbh didnt feel the need for it, just slight tugging feeling in the first few weeks, defo use pregnancy pillow as it makes sleeping on your side so much easier xx

What an awful experience, i get what you mean regarding recovery the thought of a c section scares the crap out of me. I really don't understand why people say it's the "easy" way!

But if I were in your position i would be opting for a elective c section. Little miss looks very comfy and i think at this point your absolutely done in and are going to be exhausted without having to go through labour. I think as with vaginal everyone's experience is different but tend to be better than an emergency c section.

My sister had twins so was a c section, she kept ontop of pain killers. They got her up and about walking the next day, she said it was hard but each day got better.

I hope the Dr comes round and gives you all the answers and support you need. Thinking of you ❤️

Sorry to hear this lovely ❤ I havent had a section so cant offer any advice but just go with your gut. Plenty of women have them and are absolutely fine, as long as shes delivered and you are both healthy thats all that matters xx

My next question is regarding the drip.

I'm under the impression from the student midwife that once they break my waters I'll be given 4 hours to mobilise and wait for contractions to start. If nothing starts after 4 hours I'll be given the drip.. I've hears loads of horror stories about the drip and a lot of people saying to have the epidural before you even have the drip in. I never had an epidural last time but I'm just covering all bases 😆

@kerryy23 oh haha well if the doctor recommends it then go for it! Doesnt matter how she gets here as long as she does 😂 plus you need her here before tomorrow otherwise you're going to have two children with the same birthday haha xx

I had an elective section with my second and the recovery was much easier than my first, I felt normal within a couple of weeks and was driving again after 3weeks! My first baby was an emergency csection and recovery was horrendous so I dreaded my second but I had a totally different recovery! Good lunch with whatever you decide! ☺️

I had the drip and then epidural after ( mine failed) .. The drip started things very fast so ide Deffinatly get the epidural first given a chance again. But your body may be better at dealing with pain as i am a wimp 😂xx

My first born was a emergency c section partly due to failure to progress and other things. But I had propess it fell out at 4cms so they moved me to labour ward and put me on the drip I took the epidural and felt nothing, I was contracting nicely but wasn't dilating, not to say that will be the same case for you. There were other factors that also lead to my emergency c section.

My elective c section was a far better experience than emergency. Not going to lie its a bit painful once the anaesthetic wares off but they will offer you pain relief every few hours, as long as your on top of the pain relief and rest up, obviously as best you can with a newborn and young child, its not too bad.

Hi lovely I hope you’re doing okay. I just read through your updates and just want to reassure you that the propess is not used to start labour, it’s to prepare your cervix for them to break your waters, just some people are lucky that it happens during the propess stage. My waters had to be broken with every one of my inductions. It’s frustrating! I just want you to be prepared that your cervix will be more ready now so your waters might go at home. Good luck!! Xx
