My close friend talked to an accountant that works closely with the IRS and apparently if you paid your tax filing fees with your refund last year then for some reason there was a glitch in the system and those people are now receiving paper checks. Obviously this is word of mouth so take it as you will but so far it’s proven true for my friends and family who have and haven’t gotten theirs via direct deposit like they were expecting.

@lifebyshe Hey scratch that! I asked hubs and he said we DID just write a check upfront for our filing fees. I guess it saves you like 30 bucks to do that. 🤷‍♀️

We got our first one direct deposit and this one was scheduled to be mailed tomorrow and it showed up today.

My check my payment status says “not available” doesn’t have a mail date

We were never given a direct deposit. Even for the first one. It was sent on a card. And the one I got today, was a paper check.

We talked to our h&r block agent today and they said they hold the payment for 3 days and it will be deposited.
