Okay so my husband is helping out one of his friends and his friends girlfriend by letting them stay in our garage (the thing is huge but it’s also heated and has our old loveseat in there and a bunch of other stuff from the old house. Anyway I’m getting super annoyed because they have been here since the 23rd and they say they are trying to find a place but half the time they are playing video games or on the computer. Well we have security cameras in every room of the house including the garage. We obviously don’t have cameras in the bathrooms lol. We’ve notice things are being used super fast as well. I had some tampons left under the sink in the bathroom maybe like 5 or 6 and I go in there this morning because Aunt Flo decided to pay a visit and I only have one tampon left! She’s the only other adult women here so I know I haven’t used them. I also went back on my security cameras and find her getting into our cabinets and fridge after we go to sleep. My husband is a Michigan medical marijuana patient and he said he’s noticed some of his marijuana missing we keep in the garage in lock cabinet thing and because it was just us before we didn’t put a back on it and now he said some is missing and this is before I set the cameras up to record. I review the footage every day. I’m very annoyed because we are trying to help them and they have gotten way to comfortable way to fast. I’m not sure what to do now. My husband and I have talked about maybe giving them a time they have to be out by. We are spending money way to fast on food and other things and my husband has noticed they don’t even say thank you anymore. The guy had also made inappropriate comments about me when I wasn’t around and I think that’s what has pushed myself and my husband over the edge. I want them out and I want them out very very soon

If you are renting, I would tell them your landlord now knows and brought it to your attention its on the lease for guests to only stay 14 days (or x amount) because they are not on the lease so they need to find other residency asap. Also throw out that you and your husband review the tapes and dont appreciate the disrespect when you are doing nothing but trying to help them but they took advantage of that by not doing their part. I say they're lucky if y'all don't press charges. Since the marijuana is a prescription, I wonder if they can be busted to stealing prescription medications 🤔

@courtney017, I would still do it. You are paying for the rent. I am not sure what your lease says but most say guests are ok to stay for X amount of days before it is breaking the lease you made. And therefore the owner can then kick you out.

Give them a two week notice in writing! You need documentation in case this has to be taken to court or cops called.
They stole your man's herb then once stoned, she comin back for the cereal..I mean, that's not TOO hard to figure out. Get them out before they've been there 30 days! You'll have to serve them with an eviction after that.

Give them a date before they have been there for 30 days. Get it notarized, usually someone at the bank can do that. Usually after 30 days they establish residence and you have to give them an eviction notice after that. Tell them exactly how it will be. And on the date of you can have officers help you assist them out.
Good luck. I don’t act kindly to people who take my kindness for granted and start abusing the generosity. Be firm. Stand your ground. And make sure your husband is with you when you give them the paper for witness.

I’m so fucking annoyed. I’m husband never notices when he’s being used and it makes me sad. He can see it now though. And it hurts because he thought they were his friends.
Also some states have weird laws after 30 days so make sure they are out before the 30 day mark.

@courtney017, I’d be calling them out early as fuk in the morning and taking that and putting it in the house you can’t even tell the cops because they will be like that’s what happens when u let ppl stay with you smh maybe unless you showed them the video that’s why you can’t trust anyone no such thing as real friends now days 🙄

Yes for sure give them an out date. Do they know there’s cameras in the house? Maybe telling them willl stop them from taking things that don’t belong to them. They sound like they are using u guys now. Time to make them leave. Sorry but no one is going to free load off my things and not even work towards finding a place to live. Do they work?
My husband gives them work to do. And yeah they know the camera’s are there but I’m thinking maybe they think we don’t check them or they don’t record
I’d give them two more weeks from today. And say, you’ve already had a week & a half, so we’ll give you two more weeks & then you’ll be on your own. Tell them it’s costing too much & you feel like they’re not respecting your space.

They buy snacks. I usually make enough food at dinner for an army even before they came so eating dinner with us I don’t mind but coming in the house while everyone is asleep to raid our fridge and cabinets is super annoying. Also if she needed tampons she could ask. Now I have to hide my stuff so she can’t use it all up. Tampons are expensive and I’m not buying them for her! My husband gives them work to do so they have money. They got into my daughters cereal. They are drinking are pop super fast. Toilet paper is going super fast. I checked the cameras this morning and she literally got two big bowls of cereal and took them out to the garage with her.
