Nobody wants free stuff!
Nobody wants free stuff!
We cleaned out our garage this weekend so I can park Big Bertha in there. We had a fairly new washer and dryer (about 3 years old but only used for a year) that has been sitting in our garage since we moved into our house because it came with a washer and dryer. They have to go in order for my giant van to fit, and I really don't care about getting any money for them I just want them gone. I offered them up for free to anyone as long as they just come and get them. Nobody wants them though! I'm pretty shocked about that.

We put ours on the curb and it was gone in an hour!

I want them!! I have a friend who is struggling. She never complains about not having one but as much as she works, it would really help. I wish I loved close to you!!

Look for a local shelter,a local donation or a church place that accept large appliances. Some of them are willing to come and get them free.

If you lived near me I'd take them off your hands!

Damn if you didn't live in Wisconsin I would so take them! I am not looking forward to dropping lots of cash.

Top loading washers so can't stack and my laundry is only big enough for 1 set and the washer is an HE which I hate anyways. I really just want to give them to someone who needs them and will come get them lol

Is there a way to set them up in your laundry area so that you have two of each? Can do laundry more quickly that way! Could you stack each set? Maybe you have to tear out some shelving to do that or move it higher. Nbd. Make it work!

Not sure if you have Facebook but I have a Pay it forward site that ppl post stuff for free or if they are in need. You can check to see if there is anything in your area

If I were closer to you I would gladly accept them. Good luck!

Shut up Katie. You practically live in WI too ?
squishymommy1·
Mybeef I am! About 50 minutes down 50 ?
deleted-user·
That's what you get for living in Wisconsin ?

Squishy
That's 2,210 miles further than I'm willing to go for a dryer ?
deleted-user·
I would have taken it!
I try to recycle and reuse things.
Too many things to the landfill....

6?!?!?!? Dear god ?????

Sorry squishy, that stinks. When we moved into our house, the previous owners had left SIX washer and dryer sets in the basement. It was too much work to figure out if any of them were functioning, so we hauled them to the curb and they were all gone the next morning. I live in a fairly large town though.
P.S. who needs six washer and dryer sets? It still baffles me.

I live in southern Wisconsin!

I live in a town that's 2 inches wide with 2000 people on a dead end street. NOBODY drives by our house unless they live here lol and we'd get red tagged and fined by the city inspector and my HOA ?. You can't just leave big items on the street ?. I even posted on our local "swap page" and nada.

I need a dryer ? where do you live ? ?
squishymommy1·
I looked for a scrap yard first and they were all auto scrap yards ?. I called GotJunk and they are coming tomorrow and they'll donate them to a charity since they work. They are just expensive. Or more expensive then I thought it would be anyways.
deleted-user·
You could always just stick them out on the curb lol. Someone will come get them.
