Oh my goodness!! When is teacher appreciation week?! 😳 I didn't even think of that!!
@scidg3, it’s the first week in May. For the garbage/recycle guys we leave it on top of the trash bins, or if we see them coming we’ll go out and give it to them, same for the mailman.
I’m wondering this too! The teachers/aides actually all sent home a sheet with the things they like. I imagine all the teachers at this school do it and it’s helpful for sure but I don’t know what I should plan to spend. It’s one teacher, 2 aides and a speech therapist. Add in tips for mailman, garbage/recycling and I’m getting overwhelmed 🤣
@scidg3, we usually keep them quite busy so I like to say a little thank you. I usually give mailman 20-30, 30 for the 2 trash guys to split, and 30 for the recycling guys. All of the little things add up 😬
@scidg3, for the mailman we do a card with cash in it and cookies, same thing for the garbage and recycling guys but instead of cookies they get beer.

We are giving a small plant to the teacher and two assistants and I am also making them all cookies
My mom said this! Baking is based on that night and I'm not sure it would happen. 😄
@scidg3 my youngest has my oldests teachers from when he was 2 so I felt I had to mix it up this year. I went to a little event and someone was selling these so it was perfect
I did a coffee gift card stuck in a mug that said “Best Teacher” full of candies.
I was thinking SB. Maybe a mug too. I feel line I need a little something to go with it. All 3 agree in the same class.
@gris0723 Oh wow! For the main teacher I want to do I gift card for Amazon cause I know teachers buy things with their own money and I know she uses Amazon a lot. They have a head teacher, assistant and then the lady that runs the program. I have no clue what to do for her.

I do now as an adult but as a kid? Uhhhmm no.
Transgender children
So I just learned that in my kids school district (my kids aren't in school yet my oldest will be starting kindergarten next September) there are twin boys who identify as girls. They are 5 years old. What's your opinions on this matter given they are 5!!! I don't believe that at that age they really understand the whole thing. So the entire school had to take a course on how to handle transgender children. For example they can't say girls go this or boys do that. What are...
We do visa gift cards for Christmas in a jar of candies and for teachers appreciation week we do restaurant gift cards. Both of my older children are in dual language classes. They each have 2 teachers, my son has a gifted class, my daughter has a speech pathologist, and they are both in two clubs. So that’s 8 all together. Last year my daughter took the bus so we also did gifts for the bus driver and aide.
