Mommies with daughters.. how do you do it when they started school as in hair wise , my daughter will be starting school on the 20th and I’m so scared of hair lice lol 😂
Yeah when my son starts school im not that stressed lol i would just shave his head but with my daughter its so scary she has alot of hair and its curly i would hate for her to get them lol
@angie7404 as you should be lol my daughter has lots of layers and bows and crap I had to throw everything in a dryer or leave it out in a zip lock bag for 2 weeks. Added tea tree oil to the shampoo ugh it was hell I just wanted to burn it all lol I hope to god she doesn't get it again it took so long I thought hey she's in grade 3 never had any issues we're good then whammy lice war began and me being pregnant I was terrified of getting it and always felt itchy 😰😰
@ekko, @dope.ass.mom, @jennatess, @twoprincesses, thank you guys ❤️that’s what I been doing with keeping her hair up when we go to the park or places I know she’s going to be playing with a lot of kids .. some people think I’m crazy because I’m thinking about it but I’m like no I honestly rather try to prevent them 😩
Definitely order some of the shampoo I linked. It will give you a peace of mind to scrub her head after she’s played with other littles. I know it comforts me. Haha!
Understandable, I’m just as paranoid as you are lol! I’m going to be doing the same thing.
I will also tell her about the not sharing stuff and look into the shampoos 😊
Pull it up in high buns or braids and stress to her not to use anyone’s combs, hats, jackets, anything that can lice can possibly be on. When my girls start school I’m going to do a lice check on them once a week with a lice comb even if they don’t have anyone in their class that might have it. Lice is so easy to get, it’s scary. 😩
@lifewithlynnieandwill88, oh okay ,because I’m so scared of them lol I know it can happen but I rather prevent them I take care of her hair so much I would hate her to get them 😩
Yeah, I plan on doing a preventative too when Lynnie starts School!
@angie7404, I know they say to keep the hair in a pony or braids, and that’s fine for some days, but children’s hair can be sooo easily damaged. You won’t want to do a pony every single day. There will be too much breakage.
@twoprincesses, do you have fine hair? After like the (seriously) 10th time, my pediatrician told my mom to stop letting me wash my hair daily. That being so fine and clean, it was a hot spot for lice, lol.
We also found out that my best friends cat had it, and that’s where I was getting it from.
They got the cat all fixed up and I only had it one or two more times after that.
@jennatess lol yeah, my dad would only use tea tree oil shampoo. He liked how it made his scalp feel.
My daughter’s also not in school yet but I’ve been told to make sure her hair is always pulled back rather in braids or a ponytail. Also use lots of hair spray.
Make sure to tell her NOT to share hats, coats, hoodies, etc. That’s a big way that lice can spread. You can put her hair in a braid too, that will help.
My daughter isn't in school yet but my mom would put tea tree oil in our shampoo and it was supposed to prevent them lol there's also some stuff you can buy that's a live preventative shampoo.
Who else's kids starts their Thanksgiving break today after school?! My daughter schools is dismissing early at 1:45 pm to start their break !!!
Transgender children
So I just learned that in my kids school district (my kids aren't in school yet my oldest will be starting kindergarten next September) there are twin boys who identify as girls. They are 5 years old. What's your opinions on this matter given they are 5!!! I don't believe that at that age they really understand the whole thing. So the entire school had to take a course on how to handle transgender children. For example they can't say girls go this or boys do that. What are...
Calling all Mommas with curly hair, or babies with curly hair!!!
What products do you use to make the curls looks pretty and not crunchy? My daughters hair is so curly and idk what to do with it! We’ve tried Shea moisture kids and I’m not a fan!!
I’m thinking of pull my daughter from her school and into home school because of the sex Ed coming to her school. How is home schooling.?
Like everyone has said stress not to share hair stuff and hats I mean it's not 100% lice proof nothing is sadly my daughter never had them until grade 3 which was just recent I'll be honest it was a fn nightmare! But my son on the other hand has had them about twice but I just shave his head lol easy peasy. God speed momma it ain't easy and I hope she never gets them
