I got a ? My friend is pregnant she due in August and she was red flaged from her last baby and they told her that she had to go fill a papper out to sighn over her baby does she got to do it cuz they said they going to take the baby at the hospital can they do that
Well they told her to had to go signs her right over and she did that the other day and the baby daddy is still with her so he will not be able to get custody of the baby eather
So if she’s already signed her rights over then what was the point of this whole post?
You want the baby? You can do a petition for guardianship of the baby since both parents are unfit, but the child services will look for an alternate family member first before you can even file a petition for rights to the child
Technically a case worker would need to be involved, then cys. If they decided she is unfit or a danger they can hold the child for a certain time, contact the father and ask if he would like custody but that would need an emergent court order, or the would go to foster care. The mother would then have to be served court papers and have a hearing before her rights to the child would be just taken away.
This is how I have seen a few cases as a postpartum nurse. I have also had patients who are on their 6th baby and have no custody of the other 5 yet they leave the hospital with the new infant and all that can be done is follow up welfare checks by cys.

I do see i say the same thing to her befor she even got pregnant that they was going to take it if she did get pregnant but she wanted to get pregnant and thought she was going to keep it when i told her she would not be able to keep the baby

I feel like a baby shower is something you do with ur first pregnancy. I live far from my family so I didn’t have one but i did have a baby registry and I’m not even doing that with this pregnancy.
