My midwife brought up birth control today during my appointment and we went over a few different options but I’d like to hear from you ladies.. which was your favorite/most tolerable birth control ? I’m considering Nexplanon or the pills because I’m not comfortable with getting an IUD and also I don’t want a BC that’ll make me gain crazy weight.

Each one affects you differently. I know ppl that said bc pills made their hair fall out. I really liked the nuvaring but I'll be getting the mirena. In my 16 years of trying different bc I did the shot, pills, paragard and nuvaring. The paragard had started making my cycles painful after like 9 mos but I no issues with any of them to be honest!

@whit95, lmao! Well you'll be able to get back to it while you're still young. I needed to do it when I could be carefree cuz I have major anxiety when it comes to my kids so now it's me and them probably more than it should be lol.

lol if I ever get a break from them I’ll try 😂😂 I’m the same way with the anxiety I don’t even like being away from my son for too long I be feeling like I have separation anxiety

I had the nexplanon, I loved it, had it for 3 years.
Remember everything you insert into your body has side effects you won't know until you try it for yourself.

I’m hoping it doesn’t give me any horrible side effects especially because it’s the bc I’m leaning more towards, but I’m also making a pro and con list of all the suggested bc and go over everything with my doctor at my next appointment. Thank you for your input 😊

Nexplanon was terrible for me personally. In saying this I know a ton of women who have never had a single issue. If you are one of the individuals that it does effect it can be bad. Just make sure to research the cons heavily

Thank you for pointing that out I actually read up on that earlier that there’d be a chance of clotting I’m hoping if I do end up choosing Nexplanon it’s a good experience 😊

I'm absolutely the worst on most forms of birth control thankfully hubbys going for the snip so just take mine with a grain of salt. I do wish you the best, I know a lot of woman love it.

I would rather have something inserted into my uterus then mess with my hormones. I had paragard (non hormonal iud) and I didn’t feel anything. With pills, depo shot and nuvaring i had the worst migranes, dry skin and hair, low libido, 20lbs instant weight gain and moodiness. This is just my experience, I’m not saying it will happen to you or anyone but playing with hormones can put you at risk for any of these symptoms. And i was soo depressed 😩

@whit95, with hormonal bc i was always having one or the other, i had mood swings most of the time, my headaches and migraines were at least 3-4 times a week. My chin and jaw was covered with cystic acne, I was told to wait until my body adjusts to hormones (up to 3 months )but 6-8 months of torture and it didn’t change. I couldn’t handle it. My sex drive went to 0, I didn’t even wanted to be touched.

Personally I wouldn’t have anything implanted in my arm or anything inserted in my vagina that could shift. I would suggest lookin into nuvaring
