Please help!! How do I stop swaddling my baby? He rolled over in his swaddle this morning, thank god I checked on him when I did. I had the biggest heart attack. He normally ALWAYS sleeps on his back. I have NEVER seen him do this before or show signs of doing it in his sleep. He normally sleeps like a rock. I ordered the zipadee zip sleep suit and he hates it. He refuses to sleep in it. I tried to loosen the swaddle but he always ends up getting his arms out and wakes up every 2-3 hours when he sleeps through the night being swaddled. I was thinking about trying the Merlin magic sleep suit but my baby wears a helmet and I feel like that will make him too hot at night. Idk what to do!! Any advice would be much appreciated 😭❤️

He shouldn't be swaddled at this age. Use the footsie pjs.

I’ve been trying to transition him since he was 3 months with no luck but he took a two hour nap without his swaddle today!!! I asked his pediatrician about it she said he probably just wasn’t ready to be out of the swaddle just yet, every baby is different!!

We used the Halo sleepsack for our daughter. They come in cotton or micro fleece. Maybe you can try that one?

Is that the one that lets them have their arms out?

You can choose to swaddle with arms in or arms out. But its velcro and zipper, so your little one will stay nice and warm. We had both fleece and cotton but i much preferred the fleece one, since during the summer we had the AC on and then winter it was cold. She stayed nice and warm, but not like sweating 😅

Yeah they say once baby can turn over on stomach to stop swaddling, super sketchy. They need their arms out now, footie pjs and the way to go.

Yeah I’m not swaddling him anymore. That really scared me. I tried a new sleep suit today for his nap and he slept for two hours and it’s safe to roll over in, so I hope tonight goes well!

5 months is a bit too old for swaddling anyway, BUT they do make swaddles (I got a free one in the hospital) that do the body and not the arms! Maybe look into something like that?

Yeah that’s the one I have, I tried to do that but the second his arms flail he wakes up and refuses to go back to sleep. He took a two hour nap in his new sleep suit today though so let’s see how tonight goes 🤞

Just curious, why do you swaddle baby at 5 months?

He just turned 5 months today, I’ve been trying to transition him out of the swaddle since he was 3 months old with no luck. But today he took a two hour nap in his sleep suit so let’s hope tonight goes well🤞

We went through a similar transition. Have you tried swaddling with one arm out?

I tried and he hated it, I think he likes the feeling of the swaddle on his arms. He always holds his hands together under the swaddle when he sleeps so I think when I put one arm out it freaks him out lol.

My son was the same way! The only thing that worked, is that we put him in footie pjs, and then I put two small stuffed animals wedged on his sides the stuffed animals are at belly button level, so it helps a bit but I know it’s not super great to put them in his crib. It works for us though! He feels secure, so he sleeps through the night that way

When they can roll over is when you should stop swaddling.

Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no, his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me and did something else with an other girl.... and it's 10:51 am now and he hasn't texted me at all. and after he dropped me off I texted him saying what I felt and nothing. I don't know if I'm over reacting or what or what should i do. do i wait until he text me?

Hey! So before I freak out and call his pediatrician, I'm going to take this to you guys first bc I know I'm overreacting. So Brian isn't sleeping well, and he's super fussy. He's been up every hour since last night, and when he is in his bed he fusses and doesn't sleep well before waking up crying. He will drink half his normal bottle, then fall asleep in my arms. Then as soon as I put him in his bed he can't get comfortable and sleep again. Until last night he was sleeping 3-5 hours at a time comfortably (he even slept 7 hours two nights ago). I have tried burping him. Massaging him. Swaddling him tight. Making sure he wasn't too warm. Or too cold. I've never given him medicine. I have gripe water and Tylenol. He is 7 weeks old. What do you think could be causing this, and what do you think I can do to help him?

Anyone able to help? Where luke sleeps on his front, he leaks through his nappy without fail. I turn him before I go to bed and then when I go to bed but he always moves himself back. I'm not sure what else I can do. He no longer wakes during the night and I don't really like waking him as then it throws his day out of place; like his dad he loves his sleep and is grouchy if that changes. I'm not sure why it's happening I haven't had a problem with these nappies before 😕

Okay mommas, this is our second night home and little Ryder refuses to sleep in his bassinet. I’ve tried swaddling, feeding him before bed so he isn’t hungry, tried 3 different pacifiers, laid him down awake and asleep. Any ideas?? I just don’t know how else to get him to sleep in his bassinet and not in my arms at night. ** I had no problem with my other two boys laying in their beds but Ryder refuses to leave me.**
