When I’m around family or friends with my daughter and she’s playing and falls down, I’m her mother I can tell if she’s really hurt. Nine times out of ten it’s just a little stumble and she falls back on her butt or runs into something but I know she’s fine. She won’t fuss unless people around her react to it so I always say DONT PICK HER UP! And I feel as if its rude as fuck and over stepping your boundaries if you disregard what I said and pick her up anyway saying “omg awww are you okay” when I, her mother, knows she’s just fine. Not a tear in sight but now she’s gonna freak out because you’re freaking out. I believe fear is taught !!!!! She’s a baby she’s fallen down a million times and she’s gonna keep falling and it’s my job as her MOTHER to teach her to get right back up. Now I’m not insensitive, every once in a while I might give her some tlc after a fall and kiss her boo boo but most of the times it’s not necessary so if I say DONT PICK HER UP then don’t fucking pick her up . Thank you and goodnight

I love how I repeatedly told my father in law not to let my daughter root through the toy box because she doesn’t want anything out of it anyway and he keeps picking her up and taking her to the toy box no matter how many times I tell her no and tell him she doesn’t even want anything out of there anyway. At first I told him “only let her get one toy” so she picks one up and he is still holding her over the toy box then tries to put her over the baby gate so she can grab more. I’m sorry but you aren’t the one that has to pick up all these toys. You aren’t the one who has to put them back. He never picks up toys. Everyone wants to get the toys out for her out no one ever wants to help me pick them back up. The fact that I said not to let her get anything out of the box more than 5 times really pisses me off. You may be her grandparent but you aren’t her parent. So now I have mass toys to pic up on top of the toys she already had out from this morning

I’ve posted about my defiant toddler many times before but I’m really at a loss now. She deliberately disobeys. Like, she knows what “no” means and if she’s doing something she knows she’s not supposed to I can ask “do you want to go in timeout?” And she’ll answer “no” and SOMETIMES stop.. I can’t take her anywhere cause she refuses to listen. She runs wild, screams, throws tantrums etc. At home she’s just as bad and absolutely nothing I do or say helps. Timeout doesn’t work, hand poppings don’t work, a pop on the butt doesn’t work, I’ve tried getting down to her level and calmly explaining things or trying to make sure she knows that I understand her emotions and things like that but I’m not even kidding when I say nothing works with her. I’m constantly telling her no and even though she knows she’s going to get into trouble she will do it anyways and then cream this blood curdling scream when she does get in trouble. I’ve raided Pinterest for days, write everything down, tried everything I found... idk what else to do. Everyone keeps telling me it’s “terrible twos” or “she’s just strong willed” or that it’s normal for her age and all of that might be true but there’s gotta be some kind of something that will help me teach her to listen to me and such.
