I may have 2 other kids but my last child is the only one to start off in his crib so I didn’t have to get him out my bed lol, so I have a question hopefully someone can give me some advice my youngest son is a year and 7 months and he is now crawling out his crib I’m gonna turn his crib into the day bed but my question is should I do it before or after his nap? And how do I keep him in when it is time for naps and bed?
When I took my older two out their crib, both newly one. I would put them in say goodnight and walk out. They would run to the door and cry at first and there was some nights they slept on their floor but they are smart and figure it out pretty fast. I put a baby gate at their door and baby proof their whole room. Some nights they would play a little but then go to bed.
We started with nap. It’s easier. We put a gate on his door so he couldn’t leave the room. When he gets up, just tuck him back in. Start with 5 minutes, then 10, then 15, etc. Keep telling him that he’s a big boy and needs to stay in his big boy bed so he can get some rest to grow big and strong. Works like a charm for Jacob. We switched him at Thanksgiving when he was just past 2 years. He never successfully climbed out, but he would climb in
Thank y’all ❤️
