I need to vent alittle ok so i was raised Catholic i still have my believes i dont go to church thats the problem im just not a church person but i do thank god every day for everything so now all of my husband side of family has turn Christian they tryed to see if I do but no sorry i just can't. I've been baptized i have a godmother and my godfather past away when i was 10. So anyway my MIL was talking to me and she wants to BAPTIZE MY KIDS TO CHRISTIANITY...idk if im ok with that and idk how to tell her cause i have no one close to me to be ok to baptize my kids and tell her sorry but they are Catholic so im stuck i know my kids need to get baptize their getting big but there's kids not are not and are ok so why are they pushing me i just need to talk to my husband i dont want no more white hairs lol its stressful

I'm raising my son the way we (me and my husband ) see fit. I view religion very differently than most people. First my son is not baptized because I feel that that ceremony or what have you is about a commitment and a child can not know the full extent of the responsibility that comes with committing yourself to God. So once Jr is old enough to think for himself and understands what is expected of him as a son of God he can choose his path. I also do not believe that God forbid something should happen to Jr he would go to hell just because he isn't baptized because a childs innocence should be enough to get him saved
Children shouldnt be baptized to anything. They need to be old enough to make that choice for themselves. As a Christian she should know that. Its a choice to love and accept Christ.
I was raised Jewish.....and ALL Children belong to God so there isn't a need to baptize them..i am not religious just spiritual.You do what's best for your kids ! @tinkcem85
Definitely discuss this with your husband first. You two are the parents and it should be decided between the two of you and your children. Since your kids are older, maybe include them and ask what they want.
I'm just scared their going to choose my MIL cause we never have taken them to church if they go it was with his mom. not that I haven't want to go just that I want my husband to go as well and he dont
