I formula fed my 8y/o and breast fed my 3y/o for 16 months, I’ve decided for my own reasons due to the problems I did face breastfeeding my 3y/o that I am going to formula feed this one. My question is I have no idea about formula as it was so long ago I used it! What do I buy for newborns? Best brand? Also, bottles!? I have heard good things about mam bottles but don’t know what steriliser etc!? Help appreciated xxx

Mam bottles are my personal favourite. Also i bought sterilising tablets to use once a week. Other times i use the self sterilising method
I have used different formula with my kids. Once aptamil and 2 times cow & gate.
It depend on what your baby will cooperate with. My LO didnt tolerate aptamil and sma well and was either constipated or was being sick so i tried cow & gate and he was just fine xx

We combo feed, have done since about 6 months. My little boy would only take a MAM bottle. Maybe just buy one of each brand and see which one baby gets on with? I know the MAM self sterilising aren't cheap, a 9oz is about £17. We also use HiPP organic formula for our evening bottle, we tried cow and Gate and aptamil and he was sick constantly so we switched to HiPP and we haven't had any problems since. But again I think it's about finding what works for you :) x
I use mam bottles in a nuby steriliser!😆 and I'm currently using aptamil milk. But with my first I used cow and gate xx

MAM bottles are my favourite self sterilising , you can also put them all in the microwave to sterilise but you put it on for longer minutes, the teats are slightly flatter so the babies mouth goes round it better in my opinion , I’m using cow and gate 8pound a tub reasonable price and I have a thriving baby boy !xx
Thank you x I am so drawn towards the mam all I hear are good things, I used TT bottles with my 8y/o and they where good but there are more mixed reviews with those compared to mam I have found so I am stuck between the two!xx
I have TT bottles but think MAM look better and wish I didn’t buy so many to begin with. Don’t bother with the advanced anti colic TT ones, mine just leaked. TT steriliser is good and my boy is on cow and gate x
I think I will go for the TT steriliser as I had that with my 8y/o, has your little one been on cow & gate since he was born xx
@mummymir, from 3 days old. Chose it as it’s been around a while and it has same ingredients as aptamil but just that little bit cheaper xx
I used tommee tippee bottles, steriliser and prep machine.
Started on Aptamil stage one but my little boy was really sicky so switched to Aptamil Anti-Reflux and he stayed on that til a year old x

Tommee tippee bottles all the way!! I’d buy a starter pack for the hospital which is 6 bottle and teats then a tub of milk for home. I used cow and gate for both my girls after I’d run out of expressed milk xx

@mummymir, yeah it’s a quick fix while your in hospital then straight onto formula when your home xx
The mam bottles are self sterilising so you can do them without needing a steraliser but mam do do a steraliser if thou were to do more then one at a time. Can't help with formula tho sorry xx
@mummymir I'm using mam bottles with expressed milk and my little one took to them straight away. I also have a tommee tippie microwave sterilizer that I use if I'm doing a lot at once. Sterilizing tablets are usually disolve in cold water then put items in for 15minutes in the cold water solution and then they're sterilised, but just check as different brands may vary xx
Mam Are brilliant bottles because the teat is much smaller for newborns they are also flatter so easyer for them to suck and they come in anti colic so no air issues we used the tommee tippee electric sterilizer with them they fit fine but most sterilizers fit any bottles hope this helps x
Tommy tippee is best brand in my opinion, also for ease I'd suggest getting a bottle maker xx
Just curious who breastfed & who bottle fed :) I’m going to bottle feed even though I have been told endless of times breast is best! But wondering what’s popular, what do you all prefer? :) xx

Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...
