Rant.. My mom and i have had a lot of issues since i was a teenager. My grandma recently told me shes upset that i dont bring my kids to see her anymore. I used to let her watch my son here and there while i worked if i couldnt find another sitter but she lived like 2 minutes from my work and all was good with her then. I was at her house and she told me she thought her boyfriend was using again after being 6 years sober..fast forward a few months..my grandma told me my mom and her boyfriend got into an argument and it got physical and he almost broke her arm. Its fractured and she has to wear a splint. I dont want my kids in that home. Ive invited my mom to come see us at our house and she never comes. She says its too far yet they make long trips for other things. It sucks because her boyfriends kids are the sweetest and we were very close up untill i heard about the relapse and stopped going over there. My mom has been in many abusive relationships and it hurt all three of her kids in the long run and i refuse to let my kids go through that. But she makes it seem like theres no reason not to take them over there and they are safe with her..they arent. And it sucks losing my relationship with my mom over a man again when we worked so hard to get it back.

You’re a great mother for keeping your children’s safety your #1 priority. Reading this hit so close to home. I just lost my closest friend of 9 years because she’s in an abusive relationship and refuses to open her eyes and see any of his wrongdoing. Her boyfriend became so angry last time I visited her, he threw a chair at her which almost hit me and broke glass all over her left leg. When I defended her with my words and tried to get him to leave, they both turned on me and began yelling at me not to get involved in their dispute. He insulted my boyfriend who wasn’t even present in the situation and screamed at me within inches of my face. I left there faster than ever, and she has resented me for it ever since, picking fights left and right and threatening my family. She’s been abusing opioids which plays a huge part in her mentality as well. It’s hard to accept someone won’t change themselves for the better, but I admire that you make this sacrifice for your babies. In the long run, your kids will thank you for it❤️

@babymamamoore It sucks! Its been on my mind constantly lately. My mom abused opioids as well and it was awful to watch growing up. Shes always been with abusive men and when she finds a good one she ends it after a few months because shes "just not into it" she was doing really good for a while and then fully moved in with her boyfriend and has just gone back to how she was. It sucks when u cant help or get them to see what they are doing is wrong. Ive told her she can come over to my house and see the kids but she always has an excuse because its too far and says we will be fine at her house. She can drive an hour and a half to see her dr to get her meds but cant drive 45 min to see her grandkids. If something were to happen to my kids i would never be able to live with myself. If she were in my home i could at least control the situation. Her boyfriend smokes in the house and always forgets to go outside when my kids are there and he constantly looks doped out. I dont want my kids seeing that. I feel so bad for his kids. I love them so much and two of the three of them have serious health problems. Knowing they are smoked around and their dad is constantly yelling at them breaks my heart. I cant do anything to help them but i can control what happens to my kids and i would be a terrible mom if i let them over there. It just sucks losing my mom all over again. She used to work with me and the girls at work see her in the stores around the area and say they look awful. She told one of the girls im really close to that i refuse to talk to her and i took her grandkids from her and it just breaks my heart that she feels like that. I just cant let my kids be around that. I cant believe your friend let him get in your face like that and be so violent. Its scary when things like that happen. Drugs have such a crazy affect on peoplea moods and actions and they dont even realize when things are bad. To threaten your family is on a whole nother level.

Sorry about how long that was. I juat needed to get it of my chest 😅

@catfish2220, no need to be sorry! I’m feeling a very similar way about my friend. I’ve lost her over and over again as a friend and I still have this urge to talk to her whenever anything happens to me, she was always my go-to person. Not only would I have to worry about my son’s well being if she were around, but my family’s just too important to me. My little sister is 15 and this “friend” came into her job the other day, about a week ago. They ended up discussing the big blowup that happened with her boyfriend and she went full-on crazy on my sister, literally trying to fight her from across the counter. Luckily, my little sister is INCREDIBLE at holding her own in these situations. She handled it like a champ and had her removed from the store. I was in shock when I heard about it. It’s so embarrassing to have my name attached to someone that destructive. I hope you and your mom are both able to find peace somewhere amongst all of this struggle. I can’t imagine seeing a family member go down that route, especially with young kids around.

@babymamamoore i know u dont know me but if u ever need an ear im here to listen. U can message me anytime. I cant believe she would try to fight your sister like that! I would be livid. Glad she handled it well. It sucks loosing someone you were so close to. I wish i could talk to my mom like we used to but it either turns into an argument or its all about her and i just cant deal with it. She gets me so upset and when i can tell shes not in her right mind i get angry with her considering she has small children all the time.
