I am also coming from a prek special ed position.. so I see the benefits in letting boys play with dolls and dressing up.. the self help skills they learn there are amazing as well as empathy and social emotional skills and communication along with functional play.

well it's not like your taping lego's and action figures to her hands and forcing her to play. she's a kid. it's a toy. no matter what, it's gonna catch her attention and she's gonna play. cause she's 3m and doesn't care 😂 i agree with you girl! my son plays with all kinds of toys, when he goes to his cousins (who are all girls) he has a blast with their toys and i think nothing of it.

Now if she only loves dolls and barbies, then that’s what you go with, but they don’t really have a huge preference until a bit older. There are a lot of gender neutral developmental toys such as: blocks, stacking rings, piano, teethers, Mr. Potato Head, puzzles. The only real baby toys that are gender specific I can think of are cars and dolls, but most kids like both cars and dolls. They even have some girly cars too—- which aren’t necessary, but they exist. She’s only 3 months? She will love a play mat with the dangling toys.

My 4 year son old LOVES dolls and dresses ECT... We just go with the flow. As long as he is happy that's all that matters to us!

He’s being unreasonable. She’s a child and should play with what she wants. His way of thinking is ridiculous & it’s sad to me that a parent would deprive their child of certain toys because of their own gender role issues.

My daughter has an Ironman action figure and spider man table. Cars and other things that’s considered “boy toys”. I’m with you on this one. But I think the majority of men think the same way as he does!
