Hi everyone... my daughter is 14 months old and still wakes up twice a night to breastfeed... it is mostly for comfort not because she is hungry... if I don’t give it to her she will cry for too long .... my husband has tried to calm her but it doesn’t work and I can’t calm her without her finding my boobs ... how can we wean her from night feedings all together? #myfirstpost
@jellybeans_mumm, hi she does not take pacifiers ... we tried bottle she won’t take it ... she has been teething for months now ... it never ends !
I just let my daughter wean herself out, I'd give her less and less until it was just night feedings. Co sleeping helped a bit, but I will say we did get stuck with her bed next to ours now 😅 won't sleep without us just yet lol but she did eventually stop breastfeeding all together on her own by 2 years olds. Comforting her next to it without giving her the boob might help, weaning is a hassle!
Welcome! and does she take pacifiers ? It’s really hard to wean because BF babies use the boob for a lot of other things she can be teething, comfort, or security, or other reasons .. BF babies are so demanding but if your trying to wean her off just pump into a bottle and try feeding it to her instead of the boob
@joy87star, she’s probably using you for comfort cause of the teething have you tried baby orajel ? Or Tylenol before bed ? Normally the babies take the kind of paci and bottle nipples for the ones that look like our nipples .. try that .
