I got it. And I would get it because it protects your baby from getting whooping cough... It can be fatal to young babies, so better safe than sorry. But that's just my opinion. I'm a teacher and have had a student come down with whooping cough, so it is around.

I got it in the hospital after birth. It’s to protect baby from whooping cough which can kill them.

It helps your baby. Gives the baby some resistance against whooping cough. It was a big deal to me because baby can’t get vaccinated for awhile.

Yeah I was against that at first but I’ve been convinced so at my next appointment I’m going to ask if they can give me it !

I got mine last week. Have with all my kids as well as making close family that will be around my newborn after birth as well.

Well...I got it with my first and still went into panic attack mode every time my teeny tiny baby coughed so I can’t imagine how I would have felt if I hadn’t gotten it and she’d actually gotten whooping cough 😬 better safe than sorry is my reasoning.

They didn't give me mine until right after I had my daughter if I remember right

@alyboo102293, Should you get the shot with every pregnancy? I got one when I was pregnant with my first, which really wasn’t too long ago.

@girlmomxtwo, my doctor recommended one with every pregnancy so the baby would have some type of protection since they cannot get vaccinated for a while

@alyboo102293, @sashamcanelas2015, I’m totally for getting the shot. With my last pregnancy my doctors brought it up to me. I’m in a different state from where I had my first so I’m just gonna talk to my current doctor about it next visit.

Yes, it's best if you get it while pregnant because it will also help protect the baby. Getting it after the baby will help you not get or give it to your baby but doesn't really help the baby.

I don’t see why not to get it, unless you have some sort of weird reaction to vaccines- I know it’s rare, but some ppl do, which is why it is up to the rest of us to get vaccinated to help protect them as well!
