Does anyone have this problem? Ever since my baby was born I've always rocked him to sleep and it's been so easy to get him to sleep but now he wants to put himself to sleep. And it's making it hard because he gets frustrated so he climbs in and out of my arms, he doesnt know how to get comfortable, he screams, and sometimes start to try to play even tho hes really sleepy and then eventually when he cant fight it anymore I end up rocking him after all of that. Idk what to do now. It takes like almost an hr for him to go to sleep now because I know hes wanting to try to put himself to sleep. Rocking him took 15 mins max before so of course I'm a bit frustrated.

@emontesmom ur right. Once when I tried that it worked bt I moved too fast and messed the whole thing up lol it's so frustrating but I know we'll get thru

My son was like that , now I just have him lay with me in my room with the lights off n just stay quiet until hes asleep , hes like that he likes to think hes going to sleep on his own but still wants me next to him so he knows I give him his sippy and he lays next to me but on his own pillow and has his blanket n he goes to sleep on his own but if I move before hes alseep hell get up
@aussiexjane Even though he is a baby, he is growing up. Changing with the age could help. If he is over the formula you could try some milk or juice type of thing. It could just be a phase, too.
Lol mine gets super fussy too 🙄 I kinda just let mine get tired if he won't sleep after routine
@gorgeousmay42217 we have been on a routine should I try to switch something up? He has dinner & then a bath & we read our little book & then I would rock him to sleep & by 9 hes all the way sleep. Lately hes over the formula so when I try to give him a bottle he just spits it out.
A routine is helpful, also could try a little later, if he is getting sleepy you could give him some warm milk etc. to help the sleepiness quicker. If he can't get comfortable in your arms, he may be getting big and him laying down by himself with you next to him would give him more room, or even laying on your lap and you rubbing his head.
It's hard, gotta unwind first. You can even just close the door, put some music on and sleep yourself. He may copy you. Sometimes I ignore my son and I'll look over and he's asleep lol
@kambam thanx girl I'll try that. It's getting so frustrating but I cant tell hes trying to learn to go to sleep on his own I just didnt know how to help him
If He has a special blankie or toy, let him have that to fidget with. Maybe start a new routine of quiet time and book or two. Then lights out and singing while rubbing his back. Works for my son most times.

At what age do you think a child should be making their own breakfast? I have a 10 year old and I think he is perfectly capable of making himself breakfast. It doesn't take rocket science to put some waffles into the toaster, or microwave some pancakes. My husband insists that he needs to have breakfast made for him because if we left it up to him he wouldn't eat enough and it would take him forever.
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...
My 1yr old got up crying. I just let him cry himself to sleep. I refuse to rock him so now he rocks himself to sleep. Gotta learn someday. .
