So irritated with my doctor. I go in for suspected symphysis pubic disorder and she wants to send me over for an X-ray. The radiologist won’t do it and I asked for an alternative. Come back with an mri if I will fit in the machine. But first they have to contact my insurance and get approval. In the meantime I have to wait for the physical therapy office to call me to schedule an appointment. So in the meantime I don’t get to take time off work or anything else. I get to suffer with the pain and keep going on with daily life. Seriously pissed right now. To top it off my husband is being a jerk.
I saw a PT with my last pregnancy for it and it helped as little but it didn't take the pain away. She would do stretches with my legs and massage the side of my hip/butt for a few mins. But there's a list of "exercises" to help while laying in bed and certain ways to move when getting up or standing
@laniejay, thanks. Working full time outside of my home is not a fun time. It’s difficult to get going in the morning and by the end of the day I am in so much pain I don’t want to do anything.
You poor thing. Hopefully you get some relief soon as well.
At least they are willing to look and work on it for you even if it is taking forever... I got a "whelp, you are pregnant with twins and all sorts of pains happen faster and worse than normal, good news is it will end when they are born, have a good day"... I ask for a recommendation for a chiropractor, or physical therapy... and nope, not gonna do that and he thinks it is a waste of my money and time if I get my regular doctor to do it.. so I've just lived and worked with the excruciating pain since like 18 weeks
@gypsymomma, I work from home so my doc didn’t need to do that 😬😂 but I just suffered through from 15 weeks on.
Good luck to you, I hope you find some relief!
@laniejay, my doc has personally gone through it. She said it’s no joke. She said PT and if they put me on any kind of restrictions then she will write me off of work.
@gypsymomma, Ahh I missed that you were pregnant. Makes sense. It’s frustrating that we have to wait on our insurance to approve medical tests even though doctors think we need them.
@ek620, they wouldn’t do the X-ray because I’m pregnant. Even though I’m farther along there is still potential for harm to come to the baby. As for the mri I have to wait.
My dr basically told me suck it up buttercup and sent me on my way... spd is no joke
@tiera_shaye, I can’t go to a chiropractor. I have a slipped vertebrae and they won’t touch me. Thanks for the thought though. Glad they were able to help you out.
That’s what I thought I had. I showed some classic signs and I went to the chiropractor and he was able to treat it. I only got it adjusted once and have felt amazing ever since. Maybe you can try that first. Much cheaper alternative. But then again you are at the point some chiropractors won’t want to adjust you. Some it’s third trimester some it’s 35 weeks but others make their decision based on what’s getting treated.
@kelseys, thanks. I am awaiting the call from the PT office now. So we will see what happens
