OT. Luvs diaper commercial

OT. Luvs diaper commercial

ok, so I don't like that it's a sposie commercial but I do love that it shows a Momma breastfeeding in public. first with a cover and second without a cover. finally. we need more commercials like this to show that breastfeeding is normal and natural. America sexualizes it so much, thinks it's gross and dirty. and that's ridiculous.

just today I was at walmart and forgot my cover, well he of course got hungry so I did what I had to nobody saw boob I had a blanket over my cleavage not his face. people didn't even seem to notice except one old lady and she laughed and commented on me multi tasking while I nurse, push a cart

and text my sister lol

^^very well said.

I'm always afraid dd will pull off and I'll flash ppl. so I feed her in the car. but if a situation presented itself where I didn't have that option then I'd feed her where I had to

I don't ever BF in public just to make a point, but if my daughter's hungry while we're out, I'm going to feed her. I generally use a cover, but DD is hot-blooded like my husband and I'm not going to have her drenched in sweat just so I don't make anyone else uncomfortable. My children and their needs are my #1 priority.

I think that's the problem. it's 100% natural, so people should not feel uncomfortable about it. breasts were intended for nursing our children. I understand in this new day and age there are other options, like formula or exclusively pumping, and I have no problem if people choose to do that instead. but I think it's sad that the world looks down on something that's totally natural.

Lol Autumn!!

Reminds me of the support other bigoted practices of the olden days. Like "I know black people are good people I just don't want to see them on my side of town. ". KWIM that kind of thing toward BFing will sound really narrow minded 50 Yeats from now too.

I disagree. Im am anti bf in public. Not bc its gross or sexual but bc it makes others uncomfortable. I personally think its more rude to disregard the feelings of others just to make a point that breastfeeding is natural. We all know its natural. It just seems more polite & respectful to cover up. Just my opinion though ; ).

I was so mad at some people. Look at the comments under that commercial on the LUVS Facebook page! Some people were to rude!!

I posted about this like 3 weeks ago I live that commercial because it promotes breastfeeding! First commercial I've seen like that

I saw that commercial too and thought to myself how great it was. That was totally me @first trying to stay all covered. Im more confident now after lots of practice so I dont care as much about staying covered.

@yogalady that is really sad. Is she young? Maybe just uneducated about the endless benefits? I'd make it a point to nurse in front of her!

My SIL posted on Facebook last week about how this commercial makes her want to throw up. She said the poor waiter is going to need therapy. It made me so sad.

Good point, I guess I just didn't think about it that way. I've always been so comfortable with it, everyone around me is just used to it. Half of my newborn photos are me nursing! ;-)

Yeah, I don't think he was checking out her boobs. He just looked surprised. I BF in public and was still surprised when I saw a lady whip out her boob in the middle of a crowded Costco food court. It's just because so few women feel comfortable doing it in the midst of our society's view on BFing. I applaud Luvs!

I don't think he was trying to get a look at her boobs. I think it was because he was in shock.. like what the heck? lol

I was disappointed with it. While it's great to see a woman openly breastfeeding, they were suggesting that the guy was staring at her boobs which still sexualizes it all. I openly breastfeed in public all the time and no one stares except with curiosity... Definitely not to get a look at my boobs. Just my thoughts.

I don't think breastfeeding is "sexual" at all. But because of society, I hate bf in public :( makes me feel uncomfortable doing it in public so I usually do it in my truck if I have to. People look at me like I'm flashing everyone! More ebf and cloth commercials for sure!

Breastfeeding So my SO and I got into an argument last night bc I let him know I plan on breastfeeding whether it be while we're out or at home. He said he's not comfortable with me breastfeeding in public, especially without a cover. I let him know it's not about what he's comfortable with. If it's hot out or the baby is just uncomfortable under a cover then I won't be using one. I feel like he's being so immature about it. He mentioned I don't want other people seeing your breast or guys will take pictures. At that point I got so frustrated I couldn't continue the conversation. He says if I do it I won't be doing it around his family. I'm beyond frustrated

am I the only one that is disturbed when people post picture of their bump NAKED? like ya they don't show anything and I get this is a site for mommy's and preggies but still. I'm sorry don't want to see your boobs even if you're covering your nips. it's still your boobs and especially when they barely cover their vagina. I mean I get you want to show off your belly but so you have to go that low?!

I can't believe how many people on Facebook had a problem with this. But if she wasn't breastfeeding and just had her boobs showing like everybody else at hooters I guess it would be fine huh. It's ok to show your boobs as long as your not feeding your baby, then you need to cover up(sarcasm) let breast do what they were made to do. They weren't made to be a sex symbol.😒
