Okay...I need help this time...
I just don't know how to think about this...
Do you have any idea of how many calories he's eating? Working out that frequently his body would need a decent amount of calories. He could actually be putting his body in starvation mode if he's not eating enough which will lower his metabolism. That could be why he's gained weight.
He did say he'd get blood work done! I'm just not sure if it will show up until actual damage has been done...I've been reading a lot about it today, and am thinking maybe twice a year kidney/liver cleanses might be a good thing as well as alkalizing the diet since meat is so acidic...
So that was an incredibly painful fight. Lol. We did finally have a good discussion about it today. He said he's not cutting all carbs...he's going to continue his fruit smoothies and has increased his veggies. He said his goal is 40% protein. Since his heart rate is so low, he said it's making his metabolism struggle...
I'm better with this info...He also promised that if our daughter has eating issues, he didn't mind stopping his "dieting"...I know this is many years away, but was reassuring to hear.
I still think some of his thought processes slide into dangerous territory...and he doesn't see that...but for right now I don't think he's doing anything too harmful...I do worry about long term high protein issues...and there doesn't seem to be any studies done longer than 2 yrs...dunno, but for today, I'm going to relax a little...
He doesn't feel like he's starving since he's still consuming calories from protein...
That's what I'm scared of...when you start eliminating entire food groups...it's unbalanced...but he says he needs to find his own balance that my balance doesn't work for him.
Basically your body will store energy (which is what healthy carbs provide) to use during the times when it's not getting enough. Carbs are an important part of a balanced active diet. Low carb diets are recommended for people do have a lot of storage to use and lose.
It's definitely a good idea for him to see a nutritionist. Sounds like he's venturing into an eating disorder territory
I don't know much about storage mode...is that healthy??
I'm completely unfamiliar with the athletic/crossfit world!!!! That's one of his arguments...they are more extreme so he's not extreme.......... (insert eye roll)
Alrighty, thanks! We'll see how it goes...now for us both to settle down a bit. ?
No, he doesn't drink. He's pretty strict about stuff...
I'll bring up a nutritionist to him and see what he thinks!
I think a nutritionist or dietician could help. Does he drink? Alcohol can put on some weight. Maybe there is an underlying issue that is having extra weight hard to lose or causes him to gain. I'm glad you want to support him and I'm also glad you're wanting to make sure he's going about it a healthy way!
He's put on 20 lbs in 7 months...some might be muscle, but definitely not all of it. He overall is eating calories...just like 90% protein. So it's not an overall restriction, mostly restriction of carbs, sugars etc...when we first started dating he was overall restricting though...
I sooooo want to be supportive of a healthy lifestyle and him keeping the weight off...just petrified at the same time.
Short Luteal Phase?
I've just started temping because I believe that the reason I haven't had a BFP yet, after 20 months, is because I believe I may have a Luteal Phase Defect.
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...
He does eat quite frequently, I was more concerned about all the calories coming from protein, combined with what I called "anorexic tendencies" lots of exercising, restricting certain food groups, and weighing every day. He says that any athlete has these tendencies..,
