weight help

So my son is 15 months and since about 7 months his doctor has been concerned about his weight and its never worried me till she says stuff. He was born at 6.2 and has always been small. At his 12 month check up hewas 18.2 in the 3 percentile and at his 15 months one which was today he was 18.10 and in the 1 percentile. He doesn't look under weight at all. Hes very active and the happiest baby ever, eats alot too. His doctor wants me to start pediasure to help him gain weight. Im not sure if thats good for him. Or if theres any shakes I can make myself thats healthy and help him gain weight. He just got his liver, kidneys and his thyroid checked and they are normal and hes mot anemic. Idk what to do

Google "hippie brown girl toddler formula" should be the first to pop up.

I want to say not to worry but I know how difficult that can be when it's your own child. So as an alternative maybe you could look up an old thread I saw on here about goat milk toddler formula. I don't remember who started but I remember it linked to a recipe for a natural homemade toddler formula that might be better than pediasure. Maybe someone else remembers and could help you find that link?

My 15 month old weighs maybe 19 pounds. I'm very petite so I think she is just petite also. She is energetic, happy, understands a lot of what we say etc etc. I'm not worried about her weight.

He sounds great to me! And yeah, make sure they are using the WHO chart instead of CDC. My office used one during the visit and then another on the aftercare sheet. I was so confused why the numbers weren't what I remembered from the appointment.

He use to like avocados but not anymore, is there anyway to make him like it.

I would feed avocado over pediasure. That and almond butter with fruit.

And from what sept said pediasure sounds like "diabetes, anyone?"

If his bloods were normal, he has vitality and eats well, and he doesn't look emaciated, then I wouldn't do anything. I know thats hard when an "expert" tells you there is something wrong. But somebodys got to be on the small side of the scale.

And is it a breastfeeding weight chart they are using?

Hes height is 40th percentile and head is 75 percentile. So those r great. I dont want him to gain weight by eating bad I want it to be healthy and im worried those drinks aren't good

He's not sick, so seems like everything is fine. How's his height and head circumference? Those are more important measurements. Pediasure is just sugar calories. Might as well just feed him lots of cookies over the holidays.

I weighed him before he was sick and its the same. But it could be that because he went almost a week with not really eating.

😭 just came back from my son’s follow up appointment on his weight gain.... he only gained 1 pound & he grew 1 inch in a month, the doctor said every time he gains weight it stretches out to his height & if it continues they’re going to have to take blood out... how can I help him gain weight?? I’m breastfeeding & giving him baby food occasionally
