MIA Landlord - what to do?!?
MIA Landlord - what to do?!?
Anyone who's been following our story knows we lived in a rental for 7 months while our new home was being built. We moved out on April 10th and into the new home. We left that place WAYYY better than we found it. We were in a bind and moved into the only home that would allow a short-term lease and a dog. It was so dirty though. The previous tenants didn't clean it very well when they moved out. They didn't clean the carpets professionally, per the lease agreement, or the gutters. When we moved in, I brought it to the landlords attention and they said we didn't need to before we moved out since the previous tenants didn't. We did clean the carpets when we first moved in and my husband cleaned the gutters.

We were in a bind, we lost two houses we put contracts on, the second just 6 days before we had to be out of our house - after the contact was executed, due to a failed inspection and the sellers refusal to fix issues. It was either move into a less than ideal rental or have myself, my husband, our three children, and our dog out on the streets or living in my parents guest room.
I can clean anything so I looked past it, I made sure to document everything. I'm not worried about NOT winning if I had to take it to court, I just really didn't want it to go that far. It is what it is though.
