Really discouraged - VBAC
Really discouraged - VBAC
I'm going to try for a VBA2C. I'm high risk because of IUGR with my previous two babies but so far, this little one is doing great, even though she is still on the small side! I was feeling great and confident about everything until my blood pressure started spiking a few weeks ago. Then on Friday, I went in for my checkup and they sent me straight to L&D because my BP was 150/100. That resulted in my being put on bed rest and now I'm just so upset!

I had some slight spikes in my bp at the end of my pregnancy but was able to manage it fine & have my vbac. Also nerves at appts can cause spikes, have you considered checking through the day at home? Bet it's lower.
My MW had me take daily cal-mag (in a spray) & Epsom salt soaks helped (magnesium flakes).
If it can be managed it shouldn't be reason to not be able to vbac.

Thanks! Did your MW have to prescribe that to you or can you buy it over the counter? I also didn't know if I was allowed to take baths since I'm on bed rest. I have a follow up appt tomorrow so I was going to ask. They didn't mention anything about meds, just wanted me "to get closer to my due date before delivering". :-/
When I was at the hospital on Friday, it went down when I was in bed for 2 hours. When I had to get up to give them a urine sample, it spiked back up so they determined it rises when I'm up and moving around or when I'm sitting up and not leaning on my side.

No, you can get calcium-magnesium in the vitamin aisle, and vitamist makes a spray (it works fastest) called osteo-calmag that you can order.
I actually did a Epsom salt bath while in labor bc my bp started spiking again, it worked like a charm.
You can also check out the brewers diet. :)
