Ridiculously chapped lips
Ridiculously chapped lips
Help me! This has been going on for months but only intensified since getting pregnant. I have tried so many different types of chapsticks, lip balms, moisturizers, lip masks and treatments, and even some all natural methods, but nothing has helped. I literally have chunks of skin peeling off my lips. This has never happened to me before.

Drink more water. You're dehydrated.

Lanolin. Yup the stuff for cracked nipples. I had pretty much a full tube left so I though eh might as well try it and it worked!

I'm surprised no one has said rosebud! I love that and EOS cause they last the longest

Burt bees if its really chapped as it does a good deep moisture (wears off kind of fast tho)
Eos if u just need a medium amount of moisture
Yes to carrots if u want to put it on and not worry about it for the rest of the day

Badger works good its a cocoa butter lip balm, and I also use nivea a kiss of smoothness..but I agree with others, the more you apply it the more you will probably need it.

I use coconut oil over night I do like a huge glob and during the day I use eos.

Try eos in mint I have any chapped lips I put it on and it's gone quick!

Brush your lips with a toothbrush anf get all dead skin off , then get some sugar with a little bit of water to use as a scrub for your lips , I usually top mine off with some Carmex .. works perfectly

Drink more water and use nipple cream :)

Burt's Bees or coconut oil are the only things that help my lips.

Blistex lip repair, I had the same problem when I was preg and that fixed it right up!

Drink more water, when your lips are severely chapped you need to drink more water. And use something to help on the outside but it starts with the inside. More water!

Burt's Bees lip balm. Has a combo of beeswax, coconut oil and essential oils.
Works fast and feels very soothing.

I agree with pp. I find if I put on regular Chapstick then my lips will be dry the next day. Mine have been peeling like crazy lately so I increased my water intake and I bought this new stuff by maybelline called baby lips and it was pretty much cleared the next day.

Stop using anything on them for a while- sounds odd I know- but I have a friend who had this problem literally tried everything, in the end the doctor advised to stop putting anything on them and it sorted the problem. Apparently if you use lip balm constantly you can cause this to happen.

Burt's bees and nipple cream!

make sure to exfoliate them every night, LUSH has yummy lip scrubs or you can just use your tooth brush to gently rub your lips
try coconut oil, vaseline, pawpaw cream, olive oil..
my lips get really chapped too but I find EOS lip balms and the menthol Maybelline Baby Lips help alot

Burts Bees
Carmax Medicated in the blue jar
Olive oil
I dont like using Vaseline because it leave a white film in the corners of your mouth
You can even use Vicks Vapor Rub on your lips but be careful not to ingest too much or you will get a nasty feeling in your belly

Olive oil.sounds crazy but works.
deleted-user·
Blistex medicated lip conditioner or carmex!
deleted-user·
Put Vaseline on and then gently brush your lips with a toothbrush to get the dead skin off. Helps a looot.
deleted-user·
Vaseline or bag balm put it on kinda thick before bed too

Elf cosmetics has a lip exfoliator for $3 it's really good exfoliate your lips then coat them in Burt's bee!
deleted-user·
No idea. I wake up with bleeding lips bc they crack overnight
deleted-user·
I would recommend to try carmex before spending money on anything else. It will work.
deleted-user·
Lanolin. I love my nipple balm!

Burt's bees

Thank you so much!

I would highly recommend Aquaphor cream. Google it!! I have not found one bad review on it. It's amazing for dry / chapped / cracked skin and lips. My 10 week old had dry cheeks since 2 weeks of birth. Tried everything to get rid of it. Heard about this cream and it was gone in 2 days. His cheeks were bad too! I used it in my lips and overnight they were smooth like a babies bum!! Give it a try! I won't ever use anything else.

I use Burt's bees peppermint lip balm! Looooooove it.
Also I love Carmax (smells like s*** tho lol)
And Vaseline as a last resort

Penguin, that's genius! I didn't even think of that. I should still have some around here from DD. Might be expired but I don't even care at this point.
deleted-user·
Penguin, I have yet to try it on my lips! My fil has severely cracked feet and I told him to use it on his feet and it healed FAST!
Ashley Roan·
LOL PP! I believe it! I stopped using all Chapstick after I tried about 15 different kinds and nothing helped. Right now I am using Vaseline constantly, and while it relieves the pain, it's not taking care of the problem. I tried a natural remedy of pure honey, then you cover it up with Vaseline and let it sit for 15 minutes and that help for a day or so... But I already wasn't a fan of honey before and now being pregnant, it makes me gag.

Nipple cream. I used lansinoh on my severely cracked, chapped, and bleeding lips and they healed overnight!!

I am convinced Chapstick is a scam. The more I use, the more chapped my lips get, the more I need. Grrrrr it's a vicious Chapstick conspiracy cycle.
deleted-user·
Have you tried Vaseline? Also nursing cream works wonders.
deleted-user·
I use Vaseline at night and it usually works. sometimes carmex works for me. pregnancy always makes my lips outrageously chapped :/
deleted-user·
Pawpaw ointment. Kicks my coconut oils sweet lil ass.
