Rave..... possibly...?

So my newborn is 5 days old... he hardly ever cries, maybe twice today for like 5 seconds each. He also sleeps so much ! Altogether he is probably awake 2 hours in 24hours. Is this normal ? Do I just have an amazing baby ?!? He has PLENTY of wet and dirty diapers too.

Dd was like that for the first 4-6 weeks. Then she would wake up screaming for about 3 hours nightly from reflux

What a blessing, hopefully things won't change ?

My DS started off like that too ? enjoy the sleepy newborn stage ?

@fivelittleangels and @csavvy I think that's amazing then! But the midwife did tell us some drugs such as Pictocin and I think it's spinal if done in late stages can leave you with a sleeping baby you have to wake to feed - as gets into them too for a few weeks. But she also said check for wet nappies and as long as they are feeding.

They shouldn't sleep all the time without waking to eat so that was what I was suggesting she just ensure isn't happening.

I soooo know mine will be a demanding baby ??

My baby is like that too (6wks) only time she cries is when she's hungry or wet she had some gas problems for about a week but they went away ?

Enjoy it! My dd was like that. Around 2-3 weeks there was a period where she screamed bloody murder and everything but it was gas. She's been amazing since and she's almost 3.5.

@jada a newborn is supposed to sleep a lot. It's average for a child under a month to only be awake 15-20 min at a time.

Both of my kids were like that for the first two weeks, then they started waking up more and stuff. For the most part though they've always been pretty good sleepers.

My ds was like that until he turned around 2 weeks old...then he was crying all day everyday for months :( but my mom said my sister was like that. Never cried for all of her infant hood and was an overall very happy/good baby.

My second DD was like that. She slept most of the time. I had to wake her up to feed her for the first couple months.. and then baaaammm... she became a something else lol.

It seemed like my son slept for the first two weeks of his life but then once he hit 2weeks 1 day he was like magically awake all of a sudden and it was much different after that lol

@jada, drugs from an epi aren't going to make a baby all drugged up and sleepy. Newborns sleep a lot, some more than others. My dd had jaundice and she slept all the time, we thought it was attributed to that but she slept like that for the first few weeks. So long as he's having enough wet diapers it's ok. I wish mine still slept like that! But she still sleeps pretty good throughout the night so I can't complain ?

My son did this, he slept all night and was awake and quiet all day. He just sat and chilled. He is still like this, he is 3 and you hardly even know he's around. He is so quiet all the time. It makes me worry that this one will be a wild child from the start. Lol

How are his bilirubin levels? Usually jaundice babies are more sleepy than others.

You didn't have an epidural or spinal or something did you? I've just had an anti natal class and they had a sleepy baby as an example and I was like "I hope mine is like that" and she said it sounds great but check at that age as they may still have drugs in system and affected by them from the ones put in you.... also need to wake them to eat and make sure they are getting enough food so as great as that sounds I would monitor it.

I think most babies as newborns sleep and barely cry well at least all 3 of mine were like that for the first month

Enjoy while you can I guarantee it won't stay that way forever

Is it something to be concerned with ?

Dd1 was that way and it never changed. Such an easy baby.

Ds1 &ds2 were like that for about 2 weeks. Then did a complete turn around. Ds1 didn't actually sleep through the nights until after his 2nd bday. So I don't think you can tell for sure this early. My 1.5 week old sleeps probably 21 hours out of the day right now but I'm not holding my breath

My daughter was like that. So calm. Slept through the night. It didn't change, she is a pretty chill kid.

My son kinda started like that but then it changed. ?

Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no, his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me and did something else with an other girl.... and it's 10:51 am now and he hasn't texted me at all. and after he dropped me off I texted him saying what I felt and nothing. I don't know if I'm over reacting or what or what should i do. do i wait until he text me?

Ok, so my friend is wanting to get pregnant but..... Her fiancé does not want kids, at lease for another 3-5 years he said... so she came up with the idea to have me pee on a stick for her and show it to him so that he’ll be comfortable with not wearing a condom and finishing in her.. basically the whole idea is to make him think she’s pregnant already...... so I do this favor for her or should I tell my girl to chill? He and my husband are friends through us and he’s going to invite him over tonight and run it by him...

Outrageous! A 5 year old was detained and questioned at his school for taking a toy gun to show his friend. He was so scared he wet his pants and his parents weren't notified until 2 hours into the questioning. He was suspended for 10 days, but it was reduced to the 3 days he had already served after the parents and others complained. The school stated that the situation was handled appropriately and would be handled in a similar manner in the future.
