Need some advice please ?!!?

Need some advice please ?!!?

Now let me just start by saying I don't believe in the 'cry it out' technique but my baby honestly does not let me put him down at all anywhere ! He hates the swing, bouncer, play mat, everything ! And when I am holding him I can't even sit.. I have to be standing otherwise he's crying. He cries ALL the time to the point where I don't even have a second to use the washroom or get food to eat.. I feel bad putting him down and letting him cry but I honestly feel like I'm losing my sanity. I can't hold him all the time let alone while standing ! I don't know what to do anymore :(

I just started letting my daughter cry it out. I thought it was going to be horrible but she cried for 2 min and fell right to sleep for 3 hours.

I was reading through the comments and realized the further down on the comments I got that people had already posted exactly what I was going to say. My little girl was the same way and it turned out she has reflux and a milk sensitivity/intolerance (still learning the correct terms lol) I am breastfeeding so I stopped all the major dairy...milk, cheese, cottage cheese, yogurt, ice cream, sour cream..just the main stuff, didn't get 100% off dairy if you know what I mean. And have been giving probiotic drops and she is a totally different baby!!! Still has her crying fits like any baby, but she sleeps without being held and nurses so much better! My suggestion to any nursing mom who is having issues with a non stop crying baby would be to cut out dairy. My first was totally fine... But this second child is giving me a run for my money! ?learning new things all the time! Good luck! If you have any questions feel free to message me, because like I said I can completely relate to what you are going through! Ps..my little one only likes being held facing out as well. With pressure on her belly....ped said it is part of the reflux I guess and soothes her belly.

@hrose not offended at all- I appreciate any feedback. I'm definitely going to bring this up at his 2 month appointment on Tuesday. Thanks for the advice :)

I know we talked briefly about the reflux I would never try to diagnose your child but my daughter was the SAME exact way... Until we got her treated. Maybe look into it. The doctor told me it was colic until it got worse and her symptoms became more obvious. Since starting her meds and formula she sleeps 9 hours a night and is a happy baby. I hope I'm not offending you, just trying to help. Let me know if you have any questions!

Oh gosh I hope she doesn't have that too. On a bright note, everything I've read says all their crazy traits point to extreme intelligence! And my husband is the absolute smartest person I know. So I'm hopeful!!

Thanks @kaylaann I think our babies are alike as well lol.. Have to entertain them all day long already ! I also discovered he may have an upper lip tie which may be the reason for our breastfeeding issues and may be the reason why he's so gassy and uncomfortable. He can't latch properly ever so he's constantly pulling off and swallowing air.

Sounds like our babies are very much alike. She also hates facing me in the carrier. She won't tolerate it at all. I don't have one that faces out but I'm sure she'd like that better because she likes to be carried facing out. He is probably easily bored. I know Lyssabelle is. Try introducing toys with lights and sounds. Sit with him in your lap and play with the toys in front of him. Overtime if he enjoys it transition him to sitting in a bumbo, bouncer, or sit me up floor seat and sit in front of him to play with the toys. That might help him get used to not being held.

I agree with Kaylaann. There has to be an underlying issue. My little guy was the same. We had to problem solve the issues and after that we've seen major changes. My little one struggled with being too warm, has reflux, doesn't like to sleep on his back {due to reflux}, and I'm sure a few other issues I don't know about yet.

We babywear which helped while tried to figure out the problem. He was so over tired and in pain so it was challenging. I feel your pain. I suggest trying to see if there is a pattern or if there is any other time your little one will rest or is happy.

I definitely think he is colicky. He can definitely be fussy at the breast and because I have an overactive let down he's constantly choking/ pulling off / crying.. He's always overtired because he only sleeps for like 10-20 min during the day a few times and he's up every 1-2 hours during the night. He hates being in his bouncer and swing and he refuses to take a soother. I've tried so many different kinds too. I have a moby and an infantino carrier and he will not tolerate the moby at all. He hates facing towards me and only likes to face out in the infantino carrier but will still only tolerate it for 10 minutes max. All night he's constantly moving and wiggling and whimpering so I definitely think he has tummy issues and he pretty much cries all day on and off. It's been a rough 7 weeks for us. I have an appointment with the chiropractor on Thursday so I'm hoping that might help him. We've tried the gas drops but I didn't really see a difference.

There is probably an underlying cause for the constant fussiness. If he is in pain then no amount of letting him cry is going to teach him anything. He is asking for help and comfort it sounds like. My little girl was the same way and it was absolutely exhausting. I totally feel your pain. I can't remember all you've said about what the symptoms are. I know a few weeks ago you were thinking possibly reflux? Did you get that checked out? Lyssabelle has silent reflux and also has a soy and milk protein allergy. I started pumping while I cut out all dairy and soy and put her on Alimentum formula and it has made a world of difference for us. My supply dried up so she's now only formula fed. Is he breast or bottle fed? Formula or Breastmilk? Dr. Brown bottles helped with a lot of the gas issues she was having. She's still a demanding baby, she doesn't sleep well during the day or at night, but she will at least let me put her down in her bouncer or under a mobile in her crib for 10-20 minutes at a time. I think most of her remaining issues are from lack of sleep. So if you're dealing with him not sleeping well on top of tummy issues it's going to be a constant battle for you and I've been there and totally understand! Also, as he gets older he will get better. She gets a little more easy each week. She's 11.5 weeks and it's a huge difference from 7 weeks.

Try gas drops Maybe it's that ?

Or swaddle blankets ?

Maybe a car ride ?

it sounds crazy but every time she is Falling asleep lay her down & just pat her till she sleeps it took us 3 days for her to sleep on her own in her own bassinet .. it's so much better to do it now that she is young then later when her crys are grown baby crys also the binky works wonders :)

I have so much time to shower cook clean watch TV and everything now that she stays in her bouncer and swing and bed she only whines when something is wrong or wants a binky ..

My baby was like that, I had to be standing and rocking/jigging her the whole time. Turned out to be silent reflux but she was also screaming and jerking after feeds, and having long periods of inconsolable crying. does your little one cry after feeds? Worth getting him checked out by dr if that is the case. I was exhausted but have seen a huge improvement with meds. Just know you are not the only one xx

If you need a tiny break, you can put your lo in the bassinet/crib, close the door and take a 10-15 minute shower. The pediatrician said that amount of time is perfectly fine for a baby to cry.

Does your baby have colic?

Have you tried baby wearing?

My lo will have days she doesn't want to be put down and it's usually after a night she doesn't sleep well.

I also do the whine it out. If he starts actually crying I pick him up. But if he's just whining I let him go. It usually means he's tired and moments away from sleep anyways.

I put him by the sink so he can hear the running water until he calms down

I'm the same way and my LO likes to cry all day long if I put him down. But I usually just let him cry a few mins and when I stopped picking him up right away he usually calms himself down. There are some cries where you can tell they won't stop, and during those I hold him but generally if I let him cry/whine about 5 mins he stops

Thanks ladies that's kind of what I've been leaning towards doing. He's 7 weeks now so I'm praying it will get better. He isn't sleeping well either so sleep deprivation on top of a fussy baby all day is exhausting! The other issue is that if I don't get him within a few minutes he screams bloody murder to the point where his face turns red and he starts coughing :(

Eva was the same except she would wine and fuss and if I left her too long then it would turn into a full blown cry it got better around 10-12 weeks how old is LO?

Agree exactly withh pp. I don't do full blown cry it out but whine it out. Give myself 5-10 minutes of time to recover!

I think you're going to have to let him cry a little If you ever want a moment to yourself and to break that habit. To me, there's "cry it out" to where your baby is hysterical and you just ignore them to tire out and then there's "whine it out" which is what I do. If he's fed and clean and is just a little whiny or bored, I put him somewhere where he has some entertainment like a playmat or a swing with toys above and just let him Fuss while I come and put his paci in and talk to him every few minutes to let him know I'm here and he's okay. If you think about it, in the long run its better for him to not be so emotionally dependent on being held and to learn to enjoy other activities like looking at toys and colors to reach milestones like reaching for toys and following them with his eyes. My personal opinion, if others disagree please just respectfully say otherwise. Plus, a happier less stressed and tied down momma will allow you to give him the affection and attention he desires instead of frustration. Hope it gets better! I bet that would be a long day of not getting to eat or even use the restroom :(
