Birth certificate

I'm a ftm and I'm a little confused about how birth certificates and child support goes. My BD is completely out of the picture now (I'm 12w3d) and I was wondering if I put him on the birth certificate, and later down the line if he wants to be in the baby's life, will the courts just let him? Also, if his name isn't on the birth certificate, does that mean he doesn't have to pay child support?? I'm so confused...

It's really sad how they can just not claim their children. He'll get his tho. Thanks ladies

In Florida they need to be there. You will have to establish paternity if he wants rights or if you want support. Though he does have the right to relinquish all his rights if you try for support and doesn't want any part of child's life.

That sucks. He strongly verbally said he doesn't want anything to do with me nor the baby so I guess I should just leave him off so he will get his wish

The bd has to be at the hospital to be on the birth certificate after filing for child support and after paternity us established he will automatically be added to the birth certificate , BUT with him on the birth certificate he now has all the right that you do when it comes to baby .. Win/lose situation .

I looked it up and I may not be able to put his name on the birth certificate in Florida either. Guess it'll just be me and the lo

In upstate ny, I wasn't allowed to put my daughters dad's name on the BC because he wasn't there. It was eventually added after a child support hearing.

Ok thank ladies. I didn't know how that works. I'm in Florida so I'm not sure if you have to have the BD at the hospital when signing the birth certificate

My sons father isn't on his birth cert. and he pretty much has no rights unless he establishes paternity which he won't cause he doesn't want to go to court. They still ordered him to pay child support but I didn't want it so they stopped bugging him.

I'm going through the same thing.

Even if he isn't on the BC you can go for child support. The court will just do a DNA test to prove he's the father.

You can't just put him on there here in Texas they have to be at the hospital to sign aop (acknowledgement of paternity)

So my daughter's father messaged me about him signing her birth certificate. And i completely lost it, and told him no. He has not brought one thing for her or even showed support! Was i wrong or no?

mrs.kennedy You're not wrong at all. My baby's biological father has done absolutely nothing and he won't be
shiannelynn not wrong at all! if he doesn't want to support her or you right now... I wouldn't
