I don't think you will be able to because he has to sign a paper that says he acknowledges paternity & basically waiving his rights for a DNA they did that for my sons father & my second sons father when we changed his name & added him to the birth certificate

I think you can. You should ask the hospital. I know your child can have his last name for sure.

I know it's different in every state and if I can't put him as her father then I atleast want her to have his last name it's gonna break my heart if they don't let me ! @aek91 @tahtahme

You can still put his last name on her but yea I'd ask your doctor when you see her next she may have more info or better info than I do i just know that's what they do here in Illinois

You can petition the court for it, if they don't let you at the hospital. But she can still have his last name.

You might have to get his family to vouch, idk, but spouses and partners pass all the time before birth, it seems farfetched that they wouldn't let you

Okay thank you ladies! My mil is looking into it for me since she's bored at work @aek91 @lovebuggg2016 and that's what I was thinking sadly I don't have a way to do a DNA test to prove that he's her dad so I can put him on her birth certificate

They could do your mils DNA she is his mom lol

In Texas I'm almost 100 percent positive that they will let you. Especially if his family is supportive and understanding and I'm assuming they will be at the hospital when you have her.

Yeah they will be , my mom and mil will be in the room with me when I deliver @andreahogg15 I hope so if not we'll figure it out

If his mom is in the delivery room they will let you. Also when you registered at the hospital did you put him as the father? They will let you for sure

All they asked was basic medical information and stuff
