I had been avoiding a cervix check because I didn't want to know if I was effaced or dilated because I knew that if he told me I'd start getting impatient wondering when my baby would make her arrival. I agreed to get checked because my Dr. checked me for hemorrhoids and was already down there so I said why not. Well I'm almost 39 weeks and to my surprise my cervix was closed. I've been cramping lately, feeling pressure, peeing almost every 5 minutes, and walking hurts. I was starting to think I was dilating but nooopppee. Now I regret it and I know it doesn't mean anything but I'm thinking about it constantly lol blaaahhh!!

Sorry momma. I am 39+6 and at my appointment yesterday the doctor told me I went from 1cm to 1/2cm. I'm literally closing up. I know it's discouraging, trust me I know, but maybe we will just wait til labor to dilate? Good luck!

I'm 38 and still 1.5 cm. However with my second DD I was 2cm from 36 weeks till 39-3 when I went in labor. So it really doesn't mean much. Just keep positive.

It for real means nothing! I had a cervix check the day my water broke with my son and I was high and tight.

Are you ftm? I've heard it's actually really common to not dilate ahead of time. My OB thought it was a little unusual that I started dilating so early on.
