When did you ladies start getting checked to see if your dilating? I am 36 weeks 4 days and not once have any of my…

@sunshine1, I have four doctors.. I met two.. First one was kinda mean ish and the second one was a sweetheart

I had a catheter and it didn't bother me! But checking to see how much I've dilated killed me! I'm seriously dreading the next time.... Maybe your doctor is nicer than mine hahah

My doc said she will start checking me every week beginning at my 36 week appointment

@sunshine1, I laugh when they check my cervix.. Even when I got a catheter done 😂

I guess some doctors may be more gentle than others, because I've heard it hurts some women but not others. I literally almost cried it hurt so bad though. Then I lost my plug and had my bloody show 2 days later, so I'm wondering if it triggered that

I just got checked for the first time at 36 weeks. Be thankful you haven't, it really hurt me!

My doctor checked me at my last appointment and I was 36 weeks

Don't worry that's normal for some doctors. Mine is the same way! I didn't get checked till 39 weeks

It's when they try to separate your membranes from your uterus to try and naturally induce labor.

Yeah it was a nasty feeling I'm like ewww but glad my water broke cause I didn't want them too induced me at all and yeah ask your doctor about that too see when they gonna check if you dilating tell them ur concern and want too be check too see if u are dilating

They don't want to start checking until at least 37 weeks because it could jump start labor

I got my first check at 37 weeks.

My doctor told me to many vaginal exams can cause a infection. I was getting induced so at 37 weeks they checked me and tried to sweep my membranes but they couldn't because I was fully closed.

I've heard of both. Some doctors dnt want to mess w ur cervix bc they dnt want to force labor to start, & then I've also heard of them checking u at 36 weeks. I guess it depends on the doctor. I go for my 36wk check up Tuesday so I guess I'll know which way my doctor goes then..

@pregnancy2, @ak16 @sharondap2005 my momma was kinda concerned about why they weren't checking to see if I'm dilating she said that its weird that they haven't started yet.. Hopefully Tuesday when I go to my appointment they will but idk 😣 and ewwww so when my water breaks I hope I'm on the toilet, at home, or in shower cause that sounds gross.

they should be checking at 36 weeks and when your water breaks the discharge looks like snot and bloody looking

Around 32 weeks they always check me even though I get C-sections she still checks to make sure we are on schedule

They didn't check me until 37 weeks.
