Bonding with lo
Hello mommas, I had my little boy on October 19th. I was curious to know how you mommas bonded with lo. Was it love at first sight and you felt the bond immediately or did it take time and grow?
Thank you mommas! I thought I should be having love at first sight too and that something is wrong with me and that is why I didn't feel it. I do love him more and more each day now though :)
I feel that everyday as it gets easier I fall in love more...but it didn't happen right away from the beginning...dd is 4 months now and I am enjoying her so much!
I didn't bond well with my first son until almost a year.. I felt like something was wrong with me! but I read it can be quite normal. I still loved him an treated him just as well as my other two and he is 9 now and were very close. it took about 2/3 months with my daughter, she is 4 and my best friend! my new son is 2 months and I did get that love at first sight feeling.. it was such an amazing feeling.. he is colick an screams a lot but I still melt when I hold him. it almost makes me feel guilty about it.. but i love them all the same.
I didn't bond with my son at all. He could have been a strangers kid I was babysitting. I didn't love him.
This was one of my symptoms of postpartum depression. Once I got help and got on meds I fell in love with him like I had never been before
For me it took time. I had an emergency c-section and my lo had aspirated meconium. So he did not cry much and I just caught a glimpse of him before he was whisked off to the nursery. Then he stayed there for 2 days. At first when I really saw him in the nursery, I was still under all the drugs from the c-section. He had tubes and pipes on him so I couldn't even hold him properly. But then he got a lot better in 2 days and moved into the room with me and got discharged with me as well. So I slowly fell more and more in love with my little boy. Now just looking at him melts my heart :)
With DS#1 it was love at first sight. With DS#2 it took a while to grow. Around 6 mos I fell absolutely in love with him! We had a difficult and colicky start...but I'm enamored now!
When did you give your lo peanut butter? I am curious as to when you gave your LO peanut butter, DS is a year old now and I'm wondering if he is still too young for it.
Racial nickname I sometimes call my lo monkey. To me he looks like a little monkey. My so says it's racist and offensive. What do you think?
Science! My friend posted this on facebook last night and said her kids were asleep within minutes. It's a song that scientists created to help people fall asleep. I was skeptical but I thought what the hay, I'll try it out. I didn't bank on Dh falling asleep, but both him and lo were asleep by minute 2. And lo slept six straight hours. ?
Baby's weight..? How much did your LO weigh at your last ultrasound & how many weeks were you?
Names names names! It's still early in the game for all of us April mommas, but have any of you already decided on a name for your LOs?
