I just found out I'm pregnant! About 7 weeks I believe! Our first appointment is tomorrow! I'm praying so hard that my septum doesn't affect my pregnancy. I already love this baby so much! But these comments have given me so much hope!!!!

I have a bicornuate uterus and am 33 weeks :)

ive got a bicornuate uterus & i am currently 18 weeks with twins.

My dr didn't say either way. I don't have an appt for 2 more weeks. Last time my midwife said it prob wouldn't make a diff but if I would feel better then nit to have sex...mc anyway. I just feel like no matter what I try I still mc. Ugh...gotta stay positive for this one!

Did anyone's dr talk about having sex during pregnancy? I'm so scared to do anything bc of the septum, but dh and I don't know how much longer we can hold out!!!

Times on my own. I'm so scared it'll happen again but after reading this I see t is possible for the baby to implant somewhere else. I hope next pregnancy is successful. I never war to endure the pain of a miscarriage again it was horrible! Gl to u all!

they can see your placenta from 11/12 weeks as they tell you the position at your 12 weeks scan

It takes a while until they can see your placenta on a scan, around 16weeks I think. But by then you pretty much know your fine anyway getting that far along. My placenta is at the back, half way up my uterus. Praying for a good result for you too! Hang in there x

I had septate uterus, endometriosis and polycystic ovaries. I had surgery last august and I'm now 20 weeks an due this august with a baby girl :) surgery was the best thing I ever did an at my scans they said the scars are very neat and everything looks really good :)

I have a septated uterus, 3 compartments. Discovered at 7weeks. This is my first pregnancy, & conceived naturally on month 1. Currently 27weeks. We got lucky & the baby implanted in my uterine wall not the septum. The ultrasounds are now showing no septums because the fluid has pushed the walls aside and there is a clear exit to my cervix. Uterus shape is now normal and baby measuring the correct week. So all good news from me. All the best with your pregnancy!

Well, I'm def pregnant! HcG is 78, progesterone is 22.9, and estrogen is 140. Testing hcg again Wednesday and starting lovenox injections and prometrium tomorrow. Let's pray this one sticks!

You are right. The septum doesn't have as much of a blood supply so it causes a miscarriage. Hopefully when you go for a us maybe they can see where the baby implanted. I will be praying for you!

I am only 4 weeks. I also have MTHFR so hopefully starting lovenox injections tomorrow. From what I have read, the success of the pregnancy really depends on where the embryo and placenta attach. If they attach on the septum then it will end in mc. If not, baby can be ok. Praying for your lo!

I have a vaginal septum, two cervix and possibly to uteri. I am currently 10 weeks preggers. It took us about 8 months to conceive. I am scared of risks but so far this has been a pretty good pregnancy. I am going to a specialist soon to see if the can narrow my condition to either bicornute or didelphys. How far along are you? And congrats on your pregnancy. :)

Hi there! Congratulations on your BFP and sorry it's come at a difficult time. I have a hx of miscarriages and was found to have a septate uterus. I was told to get it removed prior to starting fertility treatment. I had the septum removed and after three IVF attempts have finally got a BFP. I've had some spotting this weekend so will go to the Early Pregnancy Unit when they open after Easter tomorrow to check if everything is ok. It was a gynaecologist abroad who said I should have the septum removed, and when I came back to the UK the first gynae I saw said it didn't need to be removed and that a septate uterus is not a contra-indication for IVF. Many women go through normal pregnancies without even knowing they have a septum, so I guess what I'm trying to say is that I'm glad that I had mine removed, it's one less thing to worry about, but many women don't have problems because of it. Even though mine has been removed I'm petrified about the spotting I've had, and I think any woman with hx miscarriages will be the same, septate uterus or not...
